  1. The swoosh on each side both point towards one end, turn it round and they'll both point to the opposite end. So I think the box graphic just hasn't taken that into account when it was put together
  2. are the sides not directional? i.e. you just need to turn the TSOs round to get the swoosh the right way round?
  3. I'd have thought there would be an opportunity here to make a few quid for the commissioner. If further production runs could bring the cost down closer to perhaps £60 that they could sell quite a few more and gain free advertising at model railways shows with full rakes on the layouts. £83 is pretty high for multiple purchases
  4. The french and germans seem to be able to ignore the rules when it suits them ... why cant we?
  5. .... and it still looks like a 'toy' however fancy a paint job they put on it.
  6. When did the Scotrail or ScotRail start getting used? I'm pretty sure the coaches in the pictures of the Polmont crash in 1984 had 'Intercity Scotrail' branding on Blue and Grey stock
  7. I think if the DBSO DCC/lights version was heading above £80 that I doubt it'll be produced, with the additional cost left to the buyer to fit themselves if they want it. The autocoach is an expensive example, but I would really have thought there would be more economies of scale from the Mk2fs in general. £60 each would be expensive, but if it gets much higher it will greatly reduce the number of people upgrading their fleets from Airfix/Mainline/Dapol/Hornby/Lima versions of the air-con Mk2s
  8. are there any of these hoppers left to laser scan?
  9. I never actually thought the old Mainline Class 56 was that bad that I was surprised when they re-tooled it. Perhaps a few tweaks were needed but I thought it was a decent model
  10. the real one??? It wasn't given a chance. What thrashes up and down the WCML now? son-of-APT
  11. the previous customer loyalty offer had a date with it ... I'm sure it was the 14th December the previous customer loyalty offer had a date with it ... I'm sure it was the 14th December
  12. have you checked with them whether you've just accidentally been left off a list? It may not be intentional and mistakes do happen
  13. makes you wonder why they bothered when the rest of the loco is so basic ... unless they absolutely had to perhaps because the new factory couldn't use the old tooling for me the front lights just dont look convincing. I'm not sure whether they've the nose comes to too much of a point and its reduced the depth of the lights
  14. Splitting trains is apparently not popular with the travelling public
  15. hmmmm ... now you come to mention it there do tend to be quite a few rucksacks at exhibitions .... .... and beards!! ...
  16. When the former prototype HST coaches were taken for use in the Royal Train, were all these differences to the production Loco-hauled Mk3 changed or do the differences remain now?
  17. A good announcement, but I think I'm perhaps a bit young to consider the Prototype HST as iconic. If it develops into full-spec Mk3 coaches (HST and loco-hauled) then I'd certainly be interested in those!!! APT-P next!!!
  18. Haymarket depot repainted a 5 or 6 in unusual liveries, I always liked the provincial one
  19. they might be basing that on a wrong Hornby price too minus a standard percentage
  20. Sorry so you did ... I just noticed the 'Currently the Mk3 DVT retails for £56.75 (the Mk.4 DVT will be similar).' and thought you meant the current Mk4 not a re-tooled one! I hadn't seen you included the RRP above it
  21. the picture did only show the Class 91 and DVT ... if they could mock that up and always intended including coaches I'd have thought there would have been a mention of them in the text or them being shown in the picture its a bit of a puzzle The Mk4 DVT RRP must be an awful lot lower RRP than the Mk3 ... far older tooling, far less detail, no directional lights and I'd suspect far less separate components/parts
  22. .... but that price will need a lot of justifying if it is indeed the old tooling
  23. I ended up thinking the same thing after pondering that price tag for a while, being similar money to the excellent HST power cars, then that pack would have to be of comparable quality. I just cant see how the railroad Class 91 + DVT could possibly justify that price tag otherwise. If it really is the old one then it'll be ending up in the Black Friday bargain bin next year for an awful lot less than £210 because I just cant see it selling for that price. ..... but I wouldn't expect new tooling and only one catalogue release either. If Warley is going to bring a Class 91, I wouldn't have expected the East Coast pack to be announced today
  24. The Class 50s (e.g. 50046) is also TEC as is the Class 56s (e.g. 56084)
