  1. Its about time too after they've been consistently ignored for years!!!
  2. ah ok, I hadn't noticed the masts extending that far out, I thought they stopped nearer Edge Hill where the London line splits off thats a pretty substantially constructed bridge going over there in the photo!
  3. Are you sure? If its over the Chat moss I wouldn't have expected the line underneath to be Electrified - has the Chat Moss lines at that point not only been done very recently?
  4. I struggle to see how its acceptable with the way train fares are increasing to take seats out to allow more standing room ... what next? back to cattle trucks tagged on the end of units??
  5. it might have been the same arrangement for the class 03 Cab roof as for the TPO coaches where the first batch was exclusive then Bachmann could produce catalogue runs too.
  6. what would the 47s have been used for from Kings cross? I didn't think there would have been many services that weren't electrically hauled by then, but there always seemed to be a couple stabled there. We're they just thunderbirds for failures?
  7. I really cant see them producing a catalogue Class 08 and Collectors Club exclusive Class 09 in the same year in pretty much the same livery. I'd have thought we'd have one or the other so if we have a catalogue Class 08 model ...
  8. I'd doubt it with a 37401 in essentially the same livery due out at a similar time. Had they been released at different times possibly, but I'd doubt that would be produced just yet
  9. Just a thought about the attached/unattached nameplates Dave, but could you do both? 50% of the batch having the nameplate fitted in the factory and the rest with the etched nameplate in the box? Would it really be so different to offering DCC Ready or Fitted versions?
  10. 92023 sounds good to me, I'll have one of those
  11. well that's not the update I was expecting but I can understand you leaving the 86s and 87s though. I just hope those are solid rumours and we don't have several other manufacturers all backing away leaving no one doing them! I wouldn't really have thought the 86s and 87s were so suited to crowdfunding with the huge variety of eras and liveries and variations. I'll still have a 92 though, one in one of the original liveries as they're at the tail end of my modelling era. would there be any common parts with the class 89? strangely enough I'd find it in a couple of liveries more of interest

    Dapol Class 21/29

still no sign of any progress?
  13. In the days when Ravenscraig was open I'm pretty sure both Iron Ore and Coal came from Hunterston. There are plenty pictures of Motherwell 37s hauling coal trains on the line from Hunterston
  14. gutted!!! I was hoping for several in OO!
  15. Its Realtracks product so they're entirely entitled to decide whether its kept secret or not and when to announce it.
  16. it couldn't have been because the screws were tight that it's cracked the roof could it? that looks pretty much exactly where the screws will go into the body to hold it on
  17. When you mentioned about the MGRs being hauled by the Class 20s with one on the back being too expensive because of the additional crew being needed - do you know why they didn't just hook it on the front and triple head it instead? was there any benefit in having one of the locos at the back?
  18. I could be interested, i see these units daily and have always liked them, but I'd really rather see finished and liveried bodyshells to see how they turned out. what would the options be for motorising? would the underframe components be modelled too? have you got a ballpark cost in mind?
  19. does the rubber sleeve keep the decover any cooler than tape? I'd have thought tape between the PCB and decoder would have kept it cooler than a surrounding rubber sleeve
  20. nothing could have short-circuited there metal to metal there could it? would a bit of electrical tape between the chip and the PCB make any difference?
  21. the same kind of masts have been used for the Chat Moss route between Liverpool and Manchester
  22. is it still there now? would the aerial view on Google maps show it? pretty sure it was still thee devoid of track for a long time after closure but haven't been past there in years
  23. Where do you stand with getting a replacement DCC chip too? If the loco was faulty as supplied and its labelled as 'DCC Ready' then I'd really expect Bachmann to either recall them, or replace any DCC chips that get fried through their faulty product.
  24. Oh dear!! That doesn't sound promising! Hope you get them sorted soon and its not widespread in that production run
  25. I think the first rake in that style was 1984 and it was generally only used on the Fort William to Mallaig line, normally steam-hauled during the summer and possibly stored at Bounds Green over the winter. From the following year the livery changed slightly to look like the Harburn Hobbies limited editions.
