  1. I think some of you need to take a long hard look at your workbenches! .... including me Griff
  2. Nice job. (sorry completely misread this this morning) Griff
  3. There was talk of some using the Kernow/Bachmann 4TC spare end connection doors to improve the appearance of the 4VEP gangways but I believe it was only speculation. Griff
  4. TBF there are some bargains but I always thought so seacows were rather expensive. Griff
  5. Mid May Madness? I’d say more of a case of Spring and Summer sanity...... the prices are probably what they should have been on those products. Griff
  6. Probably ,at this time of year, as an exam hall. Griff
  7. ... PS nice work on the 2E.... btw. Griff
  8. Talking about missing buffers..... apologies if you are already aware of this..... but the buffer beams are not straight and they should be. A replacement beam with cast buffers sorts that out. As far as detailing goes.... how far do you want to go? Replacing handrails with 0.3 wire. Lowering the AC units. Reducing the gangway length. The gangway doors could do with some attention. Replacement bogies (Replica). Shawplan windows. Plenty to keep you out of mischief. Griff
  9. A couple of points (not grumbles) The road into Pride Park isn’t a duel carriage way. Near the first roundabout recesses are provided to aid safer crossing. I don’t disagree with you that it’s not ideal (having to walk around the perimeter and then some more is frustrating I’ve done it myself) but I add this information for the sake of accuracy. It’s the best advice I can offer. Griff
  10. I believe the bridge isn’t a right of way.... it's a good old fashioned railway station footbridge (I’m sure the Midland Railway would have posted beautifully worded notice to this end back in the day) ...as far as bus passengers are concerned - the best course of action is probably catching the bus that serves Pride Park from the bus station. It’s a quick ride because it’s the F1 Griff
  11. Not sure how they could have made it much simpler. Doors moulded in place perhaps but much better without. Griff
  12. What’s missing? A drunk in the 6’ ? Griff
  13. https://www.scalemodelshop.co.uk/product/model-chisel-f2-2x2mm-trumpeter-09924 a similar product from Trumpeter is available from a number of uk sources. Griff
  14. Fair comment. I always thought the disparity of interest between freight and passenger vehicles (when considering rolling stock) was odd. There is a massive amount of material relating to wagons but coaching stock information is very hard to find. Griff
  15. I think that might be optimistic. The quality of 1990s video capture wasn’t that great. I know.... I’ve tried. All I saw were blurry blue rectangles where the numbers should have been. Griff
  16. The upper one.......there’s scope for a nice (realistic) transitional curve. Griff
  17. Just a thought.... but could the entrance curve be eased if the platforms were moved towards the rear of the board? The curve would be eased a little more if the platforms were arranged at an angle? There seams to be enough space for everything else and the angle would perhaps improve the overall aesthetic? Griff Edit.... As per Flying Pig’s suggestion.
  18. I noticed today that B&Q offer the same. Griff
  19. There is always blame. ....culpability might be a better word to consider? Griff
  20. I don’t believe they have (Bachmann certainly haven’t) I’m aware of grey and ‘Mainline’ blue from Hornby.... were there any others? Griff
  21. BR certainly survived into the 2000’s. The last chairman being Alastair Morton https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alastair_Morton Griff
  22. What’s wrong with that.... Heathrow plane port...... Southampton ship park and and Victoria bus harbour all have a ring to them
  23. A train station is a place where you can catch trains. There are railway stations but since Beeching (and before) many of them no longer have trains. Recently passengers who endure ‘Southern’ have discovered the difference between a train station and a railway station
  24. Handbrake? I think it was just a valve. Griff
