  1. After a little digging I found this...... definitely pointing towards London. https://rcts.zenfolio.com/rolling-stock/br/hA882DF84#ha882df84 Griff
  2. Excellent photo BTW Wasn't the London facing plough often found in those engineers / cripple sidings on the down side just up from platform 5? Griff
  3. A stack of containers and a pile of ballast where 33s, 37s , 47x and 50s once sat..... oh what the railways have become There are many people who would be upset with you James for putting 50s in the same company as Westerns and Deltics? I’m not one of them. I’m glad you had the chance. Cool aren’t they (old codger mode on) Back in my day they were sat in that yard on mk2 NSE stock waiting to run ECS to Waterloo. They were the days (old codger mode off) Griff .
  4. The SR ploughs had the same feature. So did the Irish ones. Griff
  5. In many ways it was a shame that Hornby didn’t produce an Oyster. Griff
  6. You need to find an old concrete one Griff
  7. Don’t you just need a steel cable and a lamp post? Griff
  8. I know little of the LMS ploughs but I believe the ‘Oyster’ had slightly shorter verandas and slightly wider doors but only by a few inches (a plank I think) ... it shows in the plank spacing but it does make the opening on the veranda side look a little more square. Griff
  9. ‘I've heard” .... that’s how rumours start. I've built both. Ratio kits are pretty good*. Some older Parkside kits can be a little tricky (due to age)... they are the same but different. Both have their strengths and limitations. * due to the join between sole bar and floor they can be bothersome if you’re working in EM or P4 ....but you’d cobble up something nice and brassy using after sales parts if that was the case. Griff
  10. An averagely long piece of timber makes a reasonably eventful journey.
  11. A guy becomes increasingly frustrated watching Arsenal. (the book’s better than the film tbh)
  12. A guy with additional needs rambles on about his life while waiting for a bus.
  13. What’s the thinking behind the 2 different sound projects Charlie? There are pros and cons with both of them as I see it; + gear change - toilet flush V + AWS warnings - lack of gear change? Griff
  14. I'd agree with you if this thread wasn't 30 pages long. With respect the discussion has been here for some time and I can't see the value fragmenting it. I think it's safe to assume shows are off for the foreseeable.... Rest assured that when a show does run.... it will be newsworthy and we shall hear about it. Just my opinion. Griff
  15. Depth of field is you’re friend.... it’s the shortcoming of modern camera / camera phones.... but that aside it looks cracking Griff
  16. Doom is a very subjective word..... it seams it depends on your sex, ethnicity, age or health. Life, as it is, might be doomed for some. Griff
  17. The Cardiff and beyond (WR) diagrams were EH though. Sometimes a straggler would get through (I spied slims on occasion) but not often. Griff
  18. That’s a long way out for a Hither Green diagram. Griff
  19. Absolutely..... but I’ve never seen hoards of people thronging together for a view of the Zebras. Griff
  20. For what it’s worth that would be my thinking. The way the turnouts are positioned they for an ‘outside’ slip as they are. I think a crossing has the added bonus of improved reliability. Griff
  21. https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/forum/69-model-shop-guide/page/3/ There’s a place for this kind of discussion. Griff
  22. That’s an interesting vehicle. I remember the exhibition stock well from living in Salisbury (where this photo was taken) but don’t recall a coach with windows cut in that position. I wonder which train this was used for? Griff
  23. I’d agree with you but I’ve just fallen deep into a flangeway Griff
  24. As an aside. It was recently mused in another forum that solvents might attack the resins that bond plywood’s together. So strip wood perhaps is a better bet long term? Griff
