  1. Personally, I think it’s a revolting joke but, I’d imagine, there are many negatives and positives. Griff
  2. Well staring at Sam Fox’s is infinity more attractive than looking at his own Griff
  3. It was only in this last week I said that there was a ‘way to go’ Fast progress. Griff
  4. There’s a cheap unmade Kitmaster Mk1 listed here.... http://www.southernpridemodels.co.uk/ Griff
  5. You’ve certainly found (created) a crispness that wasn’t there before. and I look forward to seeing it when it’s finished but I guess there’s a way to go yet. All the best. Keep safe. Griff
  6. Yeah I think we’ve covered that but thanks. I’m just not a fan of the West Midlands. Miserable days but that’s another story.... judging by your moniker I guess you are a fan but variety is the spice of life I guess. I will say I enjoyed the Summer Saturday in the west piece.. Happy days. Lovely sunny and lovely days. Griff
  7. Real old school stuff and I love it. Are you going to ‘paint’ (I use a fine permanent marker rather than paint) in the window rubbers? it’s the only improvement I can suggest on what is an already excellent model. Griff
  8. I apologise for my opening remark but not my opinion. This is a benefit intended to support small businesses and it is small businesses that need support at this time. A couple of unnecessary and glib comments have been made since last night. As someone who works in local governmentI and experiences the effects of cuts to spending I feel I have the right to express my displeasure. Again I must stress that, in my mind, no one has done anything illegal but this is not my point. I have no wish to ‘rage’ in a tabloid but I have raised the matter with my MP. It now rests with him and I consider the matter closed. Griff
  9. You are, of course, having a laugh! For the 3rd time.... I am blaming the process. However to actively defend the situation is beyond belief. I would really like to hear you say this to a care home worker who is searching for their PPE! I am speechless. Griff
  10. I’m sorry (and you may find this upsetting) but I feel using the phrase ‘hardship’ in a thread about a hobby is quite frankly obscene. I think we may have to agree to disagree on this occasion. Griff
  11. I’m not blaming Geoff..... I’m blaming the system. Griff
  12. We crossed posts.... but this illustrates my point. I’m sure the community would rather their money spent on something more worthwhile.... social care for instance? Griff
  13. In the circumstances is this really proper? After all this is only a hobby and it’s not terribly important compared with the more urgent issues that face us all. I’m not blaming you for following the rules but it does feel like a ‘loophole’ ripe for exploitation. Griff
  14. Hi. Just found this thread in the last day or so. Some lovely stuff on here. I’ve really enjoyed catching up with what I’ve missed. A question. I’m really impressed with the colour match on the thumper. What paint did you use? Griff
  15. I’m guessing Post Office trolleys Paul? I remember PO examples being pulled across the road from the sorting office (Salisbury) over to platform 1 and down the subway to meet trains back in the day. Griff
  16. Where is your layout set? If based in the south of England then 'Locked Down' would be very plausible. Griff
  17. How about some old brown sprue.... Parkside etc..... and sticking it in an old coffee bean blender? I have one that I occasionally use to whiz up coal to 4mm to the foot proportions. Griff
  18. Some really good work here..... your bay platform with its assortment of grease, crud and litter is just as I remember. The mk2s look really smart. I hope you have the heart to be be able to keep up the good work.... fingers crossed that everything and everyone is going to be ok. Griff
  19. When you say old body.... do you mean old body from a couple of years back with the dodgy roof grill... or the really old body from their first attempt with the dodgy everything? cheers Griff
  20. When you say old body.... do you mean old body from a couple of years back with the dodgy roof grill... or the really old body from their first attempt with the dodgy everything? cheers Griff
  21. I do like it......my point is that the West Midlands is over represented in my opinion and that is seems to be an area that is often revisited. I shall certainly be taking advantage of the subscription offer Thanks for the detailed reply Stephen. I certainly shall continue to enjoy the magazine. Griff
  22. I would suggest there is a likelihood that much of this stock is still in China..... remember the outbreak and subsequent lockdown there occurred immediately before the Chinese New Year...... I remember people scrambling back to their families, as per tradition, for there planned celebrations. Many would would not, for various reasons*, have returned. IIRC Kader (t may have been another manufacturer) expected to loose a up to a third of their workers at this time of year because they had secured jobs with better pay elsewhere. Griff
  23. Another West Midlands freight article? There surely cannot be much more to write on the subject? Well there probably can but if you didn’t know better you’d have the impression that it was the only place where freight flowed in the entire country. Griff
