  1. Scunthorpe I shall be a moment.
  2. I have only just come across this thread and like everyone else I'm extremely impressed (an obvious understatement). As a piece of plastic structure modelling it must already compare with the very best and there is more to come, anyone contemplating industrialised repetition on that scale deserves a good deal of admiration. I just wonder if you go to bed dreaming of lattices
  3. Confirm: Melksham is in SWAG... although it's (how can I say it without causing offence to our GW friends) the other side of the tracks from the L&SWR I kind of strange seeing the layout progressing on this thread - I have an attack of Deja-vous with every post. PS The bridge details are very interesting - thanks for sharing those.
  4. ######... more cromptons I was just talking about the tricky question "How many is enough"? Answer: More than I have
  5. 'Poomplamoose' are my present ear worm - Unsigned they maybe but they have managed to produce a couple of EPs and an LP. Catch 'em on you tube or myspace. The cover versions on youtube are inspired
  6. Personally I'm a little worried that you dream of "supermarket sweep"
  7. Waton was a great layout to follow during its construction. It looks super and if I might be so bold - shes got great curves of course I mean the flow of the runnning lines across from left to right - all very convincing and pleasing to the eye B)
  8. I'd like to know what filler he would recommend on cut and shuts
  9. I almost feel embarrassed but here goes - my first photo post in this thread. I was playing around with a camera - taking some pictures of some projects that have been passing over the workbench, I had wanted to check their appearance through a lens. I have a small plank which is slowly developing but it's awaiting some paint and ballast - so I took some B&W pics. I soon became wistful and dreamt of 1990... escaping the world cup, visiting the Exeter Line and finding that some loco shortages had caused some interesting motive power to appear*... *(not unusual for the time - in fact most of the locos in this selection had powered trains some where between Waterloo and Exeter during this period) Cheers Griff
  10. I feel I need to say on behalf of the whole of dear old blighty that we are all truly very sorry for exporting that livery to your country Just before an 'Ashes' tour too... how insensitive of us to have a loco painted in Australia's one day strip:D
  11. You should see what I run when I'm feeling silly .... alas it's a shame I don't have room for trains of 10 coaches in length
  12. I think the buffers are about right (as you say for a Hornby loco of that time) but its the body that is more than a little out of gauge - or maybe thats the real reason for early withdrawal - not the unreliability at all just a inability to negotiate Gasworks tunnel
  13. I don't think anyone has mentioned the cl 50 + TC London - Salisbury (Yeovil) and return semi fasts. an interesting turn to say the least
  14. Looks good doesn't it - I too will be heavily influenced by your work but wouldn't solid plastic section be cheaper than the 'H' section extrusion that your'e using? You shouldn't be able to tell the difference with a 'lid' on - Just a thought.
  15. simply superb - good concept, good plan (I love compact termini) ,good choice of region (I'd admit I'm biased on that one ) and good execution B) PS The Sandite Unit is wonderful Looking forward to seeing the layout populated with more stock as good as that
  16. CLASP structures - well I think that's what they are known as... in fact being modular you could use them for all kinds of public service accommodation... council offices, ambulance/fire/police stations, hospital buildings, university/college blocks etc.
  17. RE: Bridges I'm reading that as a tunnel portal - so no deck or brick arch? - anyway it looks a bit plain and I'm sure Mr. 'Scalescene' could do much better?
  18. I'd like to back you on the bridges... A nice plain brick arch double track job would be ideal - apart from the 'Prototype Models' (I think) kit which was a GC brick combo I can't think of another example???
  19. That would just spoil the fun
  20. I see you have the usual display of household modelling items... talc - check sewing machine oil - check Chilli - what's that for.?. PS oh and nice unit body by the way - lovely B)
  21. That would be the RP Mr. Cholmondley-Warner Great clip though.
