  1. Ok lads, I even have my wife sat here saying just do it. Going to have my tea then order a 14 unit set. Hopefully they won’t sell out in the next hour lol! Thanks for the words of wisdom, I’ll never sell it anyway.
  2. Help me out chaps I’m in a complete dilemma over making an order, I bought the apt e but it just sits on the shelf what justification can I make to go for the 10 or 14. It seems a lot of cash and I need a boot up the backside to order, one voice says buy it another says don’t but I know I might regret not going for one. Words of comfort and advice please.
  3. Imagine the appetite for jltrt diesel kits in about 3years they’ll sell loads now that folks realise what’s been lost.
  4. Looks like my dream of a decent Deltic model is even further into the future now! Boo hoo! and as for an EM1 dream on....
  5. Looks good enough to me, my money is there at £425 a bargain. Heljan are best chances for diesels now with JLTRT news. I see the new 47 is a new tooling too so worth a look when it comes out, that leaves the 40’s, now if they retooled the minor errors with them that would be good.
  6. Fingers crossed the kits will reappear one way or another in the future. You can’t blame him for shutting the company down if it’s making a loss, it’s not a healthy situation and I can only thank him for making some stunning kits. Pity I wanted to do the 47, ah well.
  7. Come on then is this nose flat then? Looks fine to me so will be ordering. I was joking about the nose.
  8. Just bought the Fowler from eBay brand new quite a bargain at £175 incl p and p. Arrived in 48hours perfect condition. Well pleased and there are some left.
  9. Judging by the speed Dapol work at releasing models, what decade are we talking about for the release, please don’t say early 2019 that actually means 2021 lol.
  10. Do skytrex still sell the HAA it says out of stock on their website. The Dapol price while still irritating by going up is still a little better than making a kit maybe. I think everyone gets sick of this habit by companies of announcing years in advance what they might eventually get round to doing. The usual excuse is that they want to claim the model before someone else does if it was me I wouldn’t announce it until almost ready then steal the advantage on a competitor by claiming all the sales.
  11. HAA HAA! Not even released yet, or any sign of being released and the price is going up, I don’t know how they have the nerve to.
  12. Ok thanks was about to embark on a small 7mm layout but didn’t want to use peco.
  13. Are c and l back up and running I’ve heard a few rumours of difficulties in ordering but they maybe just that rumours.
  14. If the Class 22 goes down the crowdfunding route could it be done without resorting to Facebook as a method of doing it as per the Class 50 and yes I know the reason why it did but I think the quality of LLC products are such I would have no problem putting money up front to make things a success. Likewise the Ruston 48can wait I’m sure it will be good.
  15. I want to see both the LLC version and Heljan before I decide. LLC promise a state of the art model and going by the Class 15 I don’t doubt it. Heljan on the other hand will be similar to all their previous ie double motors etc and dare I say it the possibility of howlers in the final shape. Both indicate a similar price tag I think at approx £600.
  16. It’s funny I used to buy the other well known publications but they ended up in the bin, MRJ gets neatly filed away for future reference once read. I think it’s a national treasure.
  17. I still have my A3 and A4 on order with no intentions other than to wait for these fabulous models to arrive. Thanks for the honest and informative update on their progress, keep up the good work these are going to be well worth the wait I think.
  18. Wow! Great result, good example of what can be achieved, very impressed.
  19. I do like most of Heljan rtr but it’s got to be the jltrt 47 for me, not a fan of the 40 or the deltic either, all the rest are good and I have most of them.
  20. Thanks I’ll look forward to the pics. I’ll be running my two locos as a pair so taking one motor out of each makes sense as four motors must be over kill any way. I can keep the motors as spares, the gears won’t be under load so can stay in as spares also. I did consider a speaker in the loco without the decoder linked with a wire and plug on the buffer beam.
  21. Looks great weathered. Comment on sound noted is there any advice on how to fit, number and type of speakers.
  22. Lol! Yes agreed, I have a oo gauge 20and it does drive you nuts especially the wife, one would be cheaper and more effective. Pity they didn’t do a dummy one with no motors in it. Might be a future source of spares.
  23. Two blue 20’s arrived from Hattons in good condition, they were screwed to wooden boards as per the Class 45. Just spent an amusing half hour explaining to the wife why I bought two and why they are coupled together, I think she got it in the end! Just contemplating whether there is any benefit in both having dcc sound or if it’s a bit overkill.
  24. Blue headcode box double header on its way from Liverpool to York tomorrow! Anyone having thoughts on which sound system to use in the locos, was thinking Paul Chetter if he does one, Legomanbiffo or Howes?
