remember they were popular at the time when unless you wanted a TINY tin of IPA you had to take a bottle to the pub off-sales to get it filled to drink at home ....

A little later in life than that p**s in tins, I discovered a local brewery King and Barnes (West Sussex) where you could get 'proper' real ale in a container. You just had to call in with (say) some old plastic bucket and paid your pennies; great for Christmas but it had to be drunk within days; shame!!!!!! You could also buy proper barrels that needed to stand for a couple of days before use; had a proper tap too. Good old days; just recovering now......
