  1. I'd better watch out then.I might be the first RMweb member to be sued by a fellow member for causing a repetitive sprain injury. Alternatively I could become a Millwall fan as no one likes us.
  2. A bit of fun here as my renumbered Bachmann 4575 class 5525 pulls in with recently finished Comet E147 coach. The firemans forgot to change lamps from a freight turn.5525's 1930s livery is now a bit early GWR for me but it won't be changed now.The coach is now painted as seen earlier in the thread. The coach livery and build was discussed here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/62197-gwr-b-sets-livery/?hl=e147 and here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/49589-gwr-b-set-diagram-e147/?hl=e147
  3. Nice work and you can't beat some static grasswork. A big difference from modelling the Teign Valley line too.
  4. Thanks Phil. Not all my work ,I might well add ,as you well know. Those gas tanks were a b****rd to do. Flora and Minnie put the jam on first by the way.
  5. Seeing pictures of Pendon makes me realise that I'm just playing at railway modelling.Immaculate.

  6. I agree but apart from the officials, how many English men were on the pitch. One ?
  7. Final few photos for today as Newton Abbot based Grange class 6829 'Burmington Grange' brings a down express through Brent. In the rake is my kit built H57 diagram restaurant coach as discussed here on the topic of its Hawksworth livery. It may be incorrect for post war but it looks splendid running with my Bachmann Colletts. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/image/27467-h57-in-siding/ http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/29558-gwr-collett-restaurant-coach/
  8. Another resident of the village is the postman.Peter Hazell.I make no apologies for the name ,as being a 60s child I was brought up watching the kids tv program 'Trumpton' and 'Camberwick Green' of which he was a character. So my nod to Brent has a nod to Trumpton too. The casting is from Aidans range here http://www.aidan-campbell.co.uk/76catalogue.htm#Tradesmen,%20Professionals%20and%20Service%20Personnel The post office van is a whitemetal kit of a Morris but I forget who's make and what model it is.
  9. 9F class 92220 'Evening Star' speeds to the West through Brent with a rake of choc/cream mk1s in tow. What will the Finching sisters make of that machine. They're used to the grace, poise and elegance of a Castle....
  10. Although predominantly a post war G W R modeller, sometimes a new model comes along that has the 'wow' factor. In my case its Bachmann with 9F class 92220 'Evening Star'.A fabulous model but I have no stock to pull with her being 1960 vintage and whats she doing at Tigley Junction shed.
  11. You won't be getting any T9 or Bullied action but here is my engine shed,a very basic Ratio kit that I've called Tigley Junction shed and is ideal for posing locos ready for the road as shown here with 4547 and 3796.The water tank is from Mikes Models.
  12. Incidently whilst looking for something else, I stumbled across this 2008 photo I took of the embankment being created that you see now in post 224 etc.Nothing special.Just using polystyrene blocks and mod roc very messily. Those with a sharp eye will notice in the background is my old Triang booking office in use as a station building.I had that back in the early 70s.Over the far side are my storage sidings/fiddle yard.

    Dapol 'Western'

    Here's D1068 weathered to taste. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=527182147323337&set=a.527182097323342.1073741827.207521425956079&type=3&theater
  14. Thanks Jonte. Here's another,3864 this time from a couple of years ago now also shown on the 28xx/38xx thread.
  15. At the time you probably didn't know how 'lucky' you were.I wasn't even a twinkle in the old man's eye then but he would have loved it too.
  16. Its all R C Riley's fault ! I wonder if he was a railway modeller because some of his photos are very modellable and here's one such attempt to create a photo. In the Wild Swan book 'The Great Western in South Devon' there's mention of an up milk train from Penzance to Kensington in 1946.The photo is on Dainton ,double headed with a small milk train complete with a passenger brake van albeit now in BR days with Hall and 38xx.I can do either but chose this one.... So here's my interpretation using my kit built Comet brakes and Dapol tankers double headed by Manor class 7804 'Baydon Manor' and Castle class 5011 'Tintagel Castle'.I would imagine the Castle will come off at Newton Abbot, its home shed.If you want the other locos on the same stock please shout out.
  17. I don't know if its old news but Bachmann have changed the running no. on the GWR version to 9003 according to Kernow Models newsletter. http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/product/33947/31087DC_Bachmann_3200_Earl_Class_440_Steam_Locomotive_9003
  18. If its the ornate Western Region type then these take some beating. http://www.fox-transfers.co.uk/products.cgi?categoryid=469&ordernumber=588785378569
  19. My old gaffer said to me once.'Those who never f**k up,never made anything '.Fabulous work and that roof teaser is a work of art.
  20. Both of the Finching sisters don't possess an ABC so no. Is the summer of '47 and Ian Allan hadn't invented his guide yet.
