  1. Saw this and thought of you Steve with the 42xx being a hot topic. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Photo-Ex-GWR-42xx-Class-No-4283-at-Cardiff-Canton-Shed-Yard-6-5-51-/370789033558?pt=UK_Collectables_Railwayana_RL&hash=item5654bfa656
  2. .....talking of the Hall. Here's Hall class 4948 'Northwick Hall' on my down milk and parcels comprising of rolling stock using Dapol products, all weathered and renumbered.A glorious sunny day in South Devon. Tomorrow could be double header day. So what do you fancy ?
  3. Here's a close up of another 'resident' sat on the bench on the up platform. This is where you lot come in.For amusement, can anyone come up with a suitable name for him.A Dickensian name might be appropriate as used by Mikkel on his Farthing blogs. Anyway here he is chatting to the porter our good friend Mike Roper. The sun is shining today and he will be getting a sweat on carrying those cases. The down milk and parcels has just rattled through hauled by the Hall...
  4. Some of you might remember the prototype thread Andy Y started a few months back.I posted this photo of a scene I wanted to recreate with my Hornby Castle. So heres the Ben Brooksbank photo with 4081 albeit a bit later than my period as 5011 'Tintagel Castle' comes by on an up express to Newton Abbot.
  5. Its the weekend and here we find something not RTR on a down express. This Castle is one of the Finching sisters favourites as they have a soft spot for the fireman. So here we have my venerable old Wills Finecast Castle 4097 'Kenilworth Castle' of Laira shed. Please be gentle with the old girl. She knows her time is up and will be replaced by the new sexier model from Hornby any time soon. Speed to the West as they say round these parts.
  6. I'm sure Adrian Marks [buckjumper] could give you some advice.I bet its well detailed.
  7. Morning Chris.I know there's a brass version in this range.Lovely looking kits. http://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/catalogue/wep#.UV_YVdnySuI

    Hornby 2 BIL

Just a heads up on a renumbered BR version on ebay.No connection. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-2-BIL-EMU-in-BR-SR-green-livery-renumbered-as-Unit-No-2122-/181113305262?ssPageName=ADME:B:FSEL:GB:1123
  9. When two tribes go to war, a point is all that you can score [Downes Vs Robinson]

  10. Very nice CK.I look forward to getting my hands on the green version. Is the coal removeable ?
  11. Definitely not as I don't own any. I used this product http://www.treemendusmodels.co.uk/productguidegroundworkmaterials.html Again not cheap but very good. The seller is on here and did the scenics on Over Peover too.Just use pva and sprinkle through a sieve.
  12. Anyway a little less conversation and little more action as 45xx class 4547 pulls up behind an express to bring the through coach onto the branch. Not sure this is correct but I'm sure someone will say if it isn't.Note the coach roofboards that read 'Paddington and Kingsbridge'.The last photo shows the platform to good effect as the prairie pulls the coach towards the overbridge.
  13. Fantastic Neal and thanks.I can't guarantee to stick to the times as believe it or not I actually have to go to work too.
  14. Yes and a Hall will be on a milk and parcels shortly. Followed by a Castle on an express...... The coach is an E147 as discussed here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/49589-gwr-b-set-diagram-e147/ http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/gallery/image/35175-e147/
  15. Just a couple today, as Laira's 2 - 8 - 0 38xx 3864 is seen passing through Brent as she returns to home with a down empty cattle van train. These are likely to be destined for use in broccoli traffic at a later date.Meanwhile pannier 3796 returns from Kingsbridge.
  16. Cheers Mikkel.Deja Vu as its our friendly Dart Castings again here http://www.dartcastings.co.uk/dart/A20A.php http://www.dartcastings.co.uk/dart/A20B.php Not cheap but better than the old Merit ones I first had years back. The vans are just the latest Bachmann one with a weathering to disguise the too clean white roof.I built some Coopercraft kits but was never happy with them.Too light and the transfers never sat right on them.Theres a Jidenco version in that rake though.
  17. Barcelona look like they've been 'tangoed' !

It all became a bit Messi.

  18. I don't suppose you have the timetable for the summer of '47 instead. Even though my Hall is in 30s livery.
