  1. What a wonderful collidescope of culture and colour India is. Today I was privileged, and lucky, to sample the many varied and interesting types of local pot hole. "Lucky" I hear you ask? Yes, they're the only things that slow down the 'mad' taxi drivers!

  3. This afternoon I have just endured 73 hours (ish) in the Cinema being forced to watch Mama Mia 2. Whilst my wife (wisely) fell asleep I couldn’t help thinking that the 3 or 4 modelling projects (I have on the go) could have benefited enormously instead.

Yup 15KV is getting there. Big components are fun when they catch fire and go bang. Thought a bomb had gone off once when a 25KV smoothing cap exploded, released a good amount of toxic gas, had to mop up that mess in a white paper suit, goggles, and breathing mask. I miss that site :-(

15kV but only with 40mA of umph.

(A tip: if something is sizzling on the floor - well away from any wires - don't investigate with your hand. I later measured the 'sizzle' at 8kV!)

      Satan's Goldfish

High voltage low current is just fun! Electric sheep fences :-) Sadly, the HV I've worked on has also been high current. Touch wood nobody I know has died, but it's been close a couple of times when there has been faults. I witness a good colleague get attached to a bus-bar once that should have been discharged but instead he lost the end of his finger and had to get rushed to medical aid. Those days are sobering.
