  1. Working near Lyon this week but not doing much as I'm waiting for parts. They gave me a guided tour

  2. Somebody has just turned my nose on! Not like a multi complex olfactory perception organ, but more like a Tap!

Hot toddy is good at times like this.

      My preferred recipe:

      1 part whisky

      1 part hot water

      1 part whisky

      1 part lemon juice

      1 part whisky

      1 part honey

      1 part whisky

Stir well & leave to cool slightly

      While waiting, 1 part whisky

      Drink toddy while still warm

      Follow with 1 part whisky.

Repeat as necessary until oblivious of symptoms.

      I'm currently on 4th cycle & still snotty . . . .

  7. Thanks DT, I just love the little story that comes with these photos. Kev.
  8. Hi Blackrat, Nice to see the details appearing on the tank – but – if I may I may an observation... Open topped tanks were common and are still around. I photographed this one this morning and I have known about it since the 70s. It is roughly twice the area but looks about the same height. (Thus 4 times the capacity.) Two things of note. One: The tank sides are internally braced, at the top above the water line (but not always). This is the cheapest method of stopping the sides being pushed out by the tremendous water pressure. Two: The tank will have always been filled from above. This is to prevent the water siphoning back into the city water when that failed. (Nobody cared about contaminating the city supply by back siphoning (in the 70s – they do now), but they really REALLY cared about their process not losing its' water supply – usually a thursty boiler! The diagonal croos piece in the corner was for the water lever sensing equipment. Kev. (Sorry about the poor photos but there was little, or no, overgrown vegetation then!)
  9. Hmm... Kentucky Derby Fried Foal!

  10. Really fancied a beef/horse Lasagne tonight but, for some reason, couldn't find one!

  11. Tonight, I have been privileged to see a special game. Tonight, I have seen a game played at 100mph. Tonight, the local supporters expressed their thoughts that the game was played at 200kph. Tonight, the (local) television commentary sounded that it was played at 1492mph. Tonight, I really enjoyed my night in Spain watching United draw 1-1 with Real Madrid. Tonight, I wish I was at the Bernabeu instead of last Saturday! Kev.

  13. I love this layout. It's not just that I've “followed it”, it is that I feel involved! I look at the pictures, and sub-consciously, I know the history behind buildings, contours, bridges, trials and tribulations etcetera! Well done to all. Kev. (I was unable to visit, this time, but rest assure – I will!)
