  1. About time I updated my blog: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/blog/1492/entry-18341-fed-up-with-rtr-po-liveries/
  2. This all came about because of a spurious remark I made on RMweb... But, when rereading my post I though, why not? I can do that. Let's design my own PO livery and built a personalized wagon! But first, a suitable kit. A quick search of my stash produced this: An unliveried Slaters kit Scan of one of the sides: And, after some photoshopping, I came up with this design: I think most of you can now figure out on who's thread I made my original remark! And, thanks to a friend of mine who has a printer (Alps) that can print with white ink, we managed to produce this: (It only took three attempts...) To Be Continued....
  3. Wagons need weathering too (and some detailing) Source: http://railphotoprints.uk/p210252395/h754CB76#h754cb76 Will write a blog about the whole process later (I did make a small error during reassembly...)
  4. Wartime measure, brakevans were no longer allocated to specific locations but for a few exceptions. It carries the post 1942 (even) smaller lettering and thus no allocation.
  5. Buy another one.... GWR Goods Wagons, A.G. Atkins et al , revised edition 2013, page 276 Then not the same diagram, in fact no diagram number at all at the time, but nevertheless a nice solution to your load problem... Cast number & GWR plates a 1890ties experiment, and not likely to have been seen after WWI, let alone WWII...
  6. A short building description. Slates kit, with some detailing: Painted in body color: Decals designed & printed Ironwork painted & decals applied: ( with a liberal amount of Micro set) Weathered & finished wagon: Not bad for a first try....
  7. Hate to say this, as I'm Dutch and not British , but it's the other way around, especially in the area of factory architecture.
  8. Last week Kernow sent an e-mail stating this variant was due to arrive and asked me to update my card details. Seems the card I ordered it with in Jan. 2013 was no longer valid... On Monday they sent an e-mail informing me that the USA tank had been dispatched. And here it is! Great service from Model rail-Kernow.
  9. I don't have any photo's showing that side of the shed with the canopy. But could two of the blocks have been mounting point for two canopy supports: Something like this. (valancing omitted for clarity, your drawing) The extra blue brick courses are probably an architectural device, visually supporting the canopy.
  10. Exactly my idea, but the owner of this model does make a excellent job of it, even if using a junior hacksaw. Starting here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/53622-Bachmann-retooled-modified-hall-2012-what-can-we-expect/page-12&do=findComment&comment=1892546 And this is the end result: Nice, very nice!
