  1. Another good source to keep you awake is The Magazine Exchange. I found some drawings of LSWR Ironclad coaches by Gordon Weddell that had featured in the MRC in the early 70's, when the only other option was to pay £1000 on eBay for the book! I eventually found a copy for £35 in Oxfam. https://www.magazineexchange.co.uk
  2. Now updated and available from Simon, @Not Jeremy of this parish, (other suppliers are available but... meh! ). Modelling With Plastic Structure Kits https://www.titfield.co.uk/Books/Model-Techniques-Construction-det.htm#641

Danger there is you'll naturally shorten the name and.....
  4. I'd certainly be up for at least one 14xx and I don't specifically model BR(W) but would have one all the same. I would have thought there are others in the same boat @Mallard60022 will need at least one for the branch 😜🤔 It was suggested elsewhere in the parish that it might be an N class to tie in with IRM releases, (those Bulleid opens look fantastic). Personally, both my N's look the part and I don't see the need for another, fancier version.
  5. Cheers, that's what I was after 👍 I thought it might, as I guess you have to remove the oxidation and abride slightly before anything will stick proper.
  6. Do you do any surface prep on the aluminium first or just clean and paint? Cheers
  7. I got my can in Halfords, so I guess if your B&Q type place doesn't have it, try a motor factors / car shop 👍
  8. I wouldn't worry about it, it's bound to be a class 47, as we haven't had a new one for a couple of a years now 😜
  9. Surely it must be time for a class 47? 😜
  10. Big hand in for architecture on Wednesday, looking for somewhere nice for a snooze until then. I mean, they're never on time, so why should I 😁
  11. Me too ATM but I do fortunately get to see my dad's dog a couple of times a week. Extra mirtazapine for tea has also helped but has dried up the creative juices. Perhaps cheese on toast and a bong might help.
  12. Ah, @iL Dottore visits one of Radstock's finest establishments.

Friends of mine took a week to catch a similar visitor (in quite a serious looking trap). George, their kitty, doesn't bother offing rats anymore and does exactly the same... bless! A major clean up resulted after the visit, they are rather smelly visitors, them rats.
  14. Talking of coaches... Did I ever mention LSWR Ironclads?
  15. I buy my dad's dog "bones" made from yak & cows milk and lime juice. They're rock hard, I guess the lime juice does some sort of magic to create "bone" effect. 😜
  16. If the speed of light is 186,000 miles/sec, what's the speed of dark.  Doing my swede in 🤯

      "what's the speed of dark"

      Does it matter? ...

Douglas Adams said the dark must be faster, because it's always got there first.

Einstein once said that the Speed of Dark is in inverse proportion to the sum of the hypotenuses of four equilateral triangles contained within the gravy of a meat pie.
