It's made more difficult if you are running your own business. So far to day 3 calls. I informed them that I had refereed the calls to the National Fraud Helpline and they put the phone down. Not had a call for about an hour Marc

It reminds me of a peter Kay episode "Keith Lard" the fire safety officer. Marc

There is a BT Openreach scam doing the rounds at the moment. It involves a person phoning from an Indian call centre. They inform you that you are about to loose you internet connection in the next few hours if you don't pay them. This has nothing to do with BT or any other internet provider. We have informed Cumbria police, BT Openreach and our own provider. They are aware of the scam and are trying to sort it. They are persistent we have had 9 phone calls today. All from different UK numbers. This is definitely a scam do not give them any personal info and inform them that you know it is a scam and it has been reported to the police. Marc

Furness/LMS/British Railways 10-12ton Brake van body
MarcD posted a blog entry in What's new at Furness Wagon Co
Just finished the model for our latest brake van. Its a Furness/LMS/BR 10-12ton brake built from 1907 to 1917 and lasting until the 1950's. It will be available as a RTR from us, to order, or as print from our shapeways site. Also, just produced these models for a customer. They are for a M&GWR/Irish Railways E1 0-6-0T -

Just sent the first 2 3D printed 2-4-2Ts to the printers.Should have them back in a few weeks. One will have flush rivets on the smoke box the other will have snapheads. Most people wouldn't see the difference but its there. Marc -
Up Date on Furness and Manchester and Milford 2-4-2Ts
MarcD posted a blog entry in What's new at Furness Wagon Co
The Prototypes are now at the printers. First production models should be ready for Telford. If everything has worked I should be moving on to the super structure of the 6 versions of the LSWR/SR/BR 2-4-0WT Marc -
We are starting. to use the technology in anger as the price has now come down, with our new stock being "3D printed" I have just sent the prototypes to the printers. The fight back has begun. Hopefully! Marc

Thought I might put up some photos of our 7mm layout. It has 4 versions all of which are pregrouping. "Scrachy Bottom" LSWR/LBSCR or GER (Wishbech and Upwell style) and "Lowick" Furness or North Eastern. We will be at Bristol show next month with our Furness version.

You might struggle with the 2-4-2T on the small radius points ours will only go round a 4ft curve max but we will only running it round 6ft. its basically a 0-8-0 the problem isn't the chassis its the gauge and the width of the fire box and the fact that its o gauge not scale seven. Marc
-
You will need one of these then. Its the FR 2-4-2T there the prototypes will be running on Lowick next month at Bristol. Top SLS nylon roof and chassis nickel silver. There will be two versions smoke bock with or with out snaphead rivets and and two different chimneys. Also a Machester and Milford/GWR version. Just got the brakes , sand boxes and roof to add to the model and its off to the printers. Marc

Not good but not to much of a shock. I spoke to Andy about a year ago and he did say that his heath was not good and didn't know how long he could go on for. He has been suffering CBD for some time hence the reason he has scaled things back in resent years. Marc

Lake Padern has always appealed but also the Redruth and Chasewater has an appeal. And with the use of 3D printing its becoming more of a do-able thing for those of us who are more tecky thank crafty. Marc

You mean these wagons.(photos from Slaters web site) I had thought of doing some myself but don't need to now. One presumes that they will be looking at the whole stock list including locos. Just need some points and the 0-14 will really be moving. Marc
-
I would agree with the the second wagon being a MoM ore wagon. As it looks to tall to be the Furness Railway version which pre-dates the MoM wagons by 7 years. Both were rated at 20t but the MoM type were 1 plank taller as the ore carried was less dense than that mined in Lancashire and Cumberland. Marc
