  1. The challenge is the attraction of modelling pre-1923 that and the fact that you get more colour running around on your layout. We are taking our main layout in its Furness form to Bristol,in May, and the NEC, in November. Ironically later Furness locos have less information in them than the really early ones as they bought in their locos from Sharp Stewart's where alot of the drawings still exist. Other rolling stock is a little challenging as most of the info was burnt when British railways pulled out of the works in Barrow. Marc
  2. There is one O gauge loco that hits the mark and that's only because Dapol have brought out a number of versions of the same loco. Their Terrier comes in both A and AX versions and also there are other exchangeable parts so you can pull bits off and add things on. The A's were all rebuilt either by the LBSCR or SR well before they got to BR. Marc
  3. I made the switch to R6 a number of years ago now the only thing on R2 I listen to was Mayo on drive time. Not a fan of Ms Whiley so I will not be listening for one. Marc
  4. I wonder when it was regauged? Were any regauged by the WD before they were sold? Marc
  5. That's the one. I bought it for a layout that never got past the planning stage. Marc
  6. It looks a lot different to the one I have. The one I have is the standard WD tin-tab with curved ends with a wooden plank for a buffer beam. Marc
  7. We are going to be launching a 3D Printed/RTR 2-4-2T very shortly. We are in the final stages of design. Also under development is the 2-4-0, 0-6-0 and the Cambrian 2-4-0T. All in 7mm Marc
  8. I have a part built ABS standard gauge tin tab it fits on a beetle chassis. I should get round to finish it. I have never actually seen a photo of a prototype. Marc
  9. We did the Dia 7 van in 7mm as a kit a few years ago it sells in drips and drabs. I have built a few for myself to run with my tram locos. Marc
  10. We have built Dia 7 Large vans as they sit on a steel underframe. Are these any good? Marc
  11. Are these the 16ft vans? if yes then have a look in the Southern Railway wagons Vol 3 (LBSCR and IOW). There are GER vans drawn and photographed in that vol. Marc
  12. I can only speak from my limited experience on either side of the operator/viewer role. As a viewer I'm the one who always wants to know how they have built it. And from the operator side I'm also quite happy to boar the viewer with all the historical info that goes in to each of the models on the layout. We try to get the kids involved changing the points and opening gates on Scratchy Bottom/Lowick and I even have my 5 year old niece operating our narrow gauge shunting layout. Something I have noticed occasionally I have been very thankful of the interruptions while shunting as It does give me a chance to think about the next move. Marc
  13. I couldn't find a reason they faced towards Ravenglass when the logic would have been to face Boot. They couldn't even use the excuse of that was how they were delivered as at various times they were sent to Lowca and Moor Row for repairs. Marc
  14. All the station buildings, apart from ravenglass and Miterdale had the same building. Boot did have a toilet. Marc
  15. Have you has a look at high level kit. They have a range of small motor that fit to 1/8th axles. Marc
