  1. We will be at Kettering weather permitting. We will have 3 of our NEW Cambrian dead buffered lime wagons. Also we took delivery of 0-16.5 wheels today so we will have some 0-16.5 Talyllyn wagons available either from us or from the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association sales stand. Limited stock so come early to avoid disappointment. Marc
  2. I have just got the email from the guild. Marc
  3. Give new meaning to "pass us a cold one!" Marc
  4. I did mention this to a guild officer last night when an email re high-vis jackets when I replied to his email. so far no reply. not had an email from the guild as yet telling me that the show is still on. On a positive note I have taken delivery of the 0-16.5 NG wheels from Gibson's today so our new range of Talyllyn wagons will now be available from either ourselves or the 7mm narrow gauge association. There are limited numbers we have 2x2-bar slate and 2x3-bar slate wagons. The 7mm NGA have 4x2-bar slates, 4x3-bar slates, 4x3planks, 4x4 planks, 2xGunpowder vans, 3xIncline, 3xIron body (with strapping) and 3xIron body (no Strapping). Marc
  5. Thanks for the tip I hadn't noticed the overlay feature before. Marc
  6. We have to set off tomorrow, as well, but I can't set off be for the wife gets home from work at 5 so we will be driving in the dark. Luckily we have minimal snow here so if the storm front keeps south then we shouldn't have that much problem getting there, fingers crossed. We have already paid for the accommodation, no refunds, so we could be down if it get the chop. Marc
  7. offset feet as well if you really wan't to get picky! Marc
  8. I got a email from guild admin at lunch time re Kettering show. this are the last 2 paragraphs "I shall be keeping a watchful eye on the weather, and regular reports will be posted on the Guild Forum, but obviously I can only report on the situation at Kettering and immediate vicinity. You will be well advised to check on road conditions in your area and on your proposed route. In the event of extreme weather conditions forcing cancellation of the show, an announcement will be made on Thursday on the Forum" Marc
  9. Very true. We have about an inch here. it all depends on where the weather front hits the cold air. As it stands we should be OK until we get close to Birmingham as it stands. We have paid for our accommodation so we are sort of committed. Marc
  10. I phoned the guild yesterday. They said that the show will go on unless the weather gets really bad. Other exhibitions have been knocked on the head. Marc
  11. The snow has got to the south west Lake District. Traffic issues mainly as the roads have not been treated. Marc
  12. For those people who will be intending to go this weekend to the show, be they traders or customers, I have just got off the phone with the guild admin who have said that the the show is at this point in time going ahead. If the weather does get significantly worse then it might get cancelled. If this happens they will post any notifications on their website. Marc
  13. I'm going to give the guild a call later. I have a feeling that they might cancel it looking at the weather conditions. Marc
  14. Agenoria Models were supposedly producing one before they vanished. Marc
  15. You know a model is great when you look at the photos and you can't guess what scale it is. Looks really great. Marc
  16. Sounds interesting What is the final project? Marc

This is not a winge as it is a question that has been asked by some of the people who come to the stand at shows. I would say ""customers but they have a tendency not to buy anything and therefore don't technically qualify as "Customers". The price the customer is charged for a kit is directly related to the cost manufacture. The costs brake down of the price of a £50 kit for a production run of 30 wagons Art work for etched parts £2.50 Moulds for cast parts £2.50 cost of patterns £3 Brass parts £5 Resin parts £5 3D prinited parts £5 buffers £5 couplings £2.50 box £1 wire £0.50 Total cost £32 Then you have to take out Insurance £400 per year, cost of shows £400 per year, cost accommodation/food at shows £1000, fuel to get to shows £1000 Heating a workshop £200 We might get £5 per kit if we are lucky so that is £150 per 30 it takes about 50 hours to design and manufacture 30 kits so my hourly rate is about £3 per hour. Speaking for myself if I work one day a week for ASDA stacking shelves on the minimum wage £7.50 I would take home more than I would working 2.5 days a week manufacturing kits. I manufacture partly as I enjoy building kits that I can't buy, but I'm always asking myself why I do it. So if people want cheaper kits then good luck with the maths and getting someone to manufacture them for you. Marc

We are working on one at the moment its a GER/LNER/BR 0-4-0 Tram loco. We were going to do it as RTR only but there hasn't been the demand so it might just be a kit. 3D printed super structure and a bolt together chassis in nickel silver. It wont be cheep mind as the time it has taken to develop and the cost of production means that it will be in the £300 bracket. But it will be glue and screw. Only soldering would be the contacts to the motor. Marc
  19. I will have to add it to the Loco kit development list then. If people think our RTR prices are low I will have to put them up I might be able to feed my children then! Marc
  20. Does anyone do a 7mm kit for one? I could do with another LBSCR loco for our layout. Marc
  21. Unfortunately for me we are going booked to go to other shows at the same time as these. I like the LNWR tank. I have just finished 2 of Jim's tram locos and the prototypes for our own RTR versions so we can run our layout in a GER form. Just had a good look at the first batch of photos,is the GER van one of our kits? It looks very good. I like the livery. Marc
  22. Has the layout been booked for any shows? Marc
