  1. Richard, Quick question how are you going to build the wagon turn table? Marc
  2. You don't think the OS dropped a clanger? The bridge doesn't appear on either the 12inch or 6 inch maps. I have seen the photo before in a book I will have look in the morning to see if I can find it. Marc
  3. Unfortunately not 7mm only. I would love to shrink it down but I can't get the parts printed thin enough with sufficient detail. The photo could be Barmouth. Marc
  4. We are developing the loco as a kit at the moment. The van is currently available from Taff Vale (Ex Dragon) and we do the coaches. So you should be able model the whole train shortly, Marc
  5. I don't think I have ever seen a post 1909 pre 1923 photos. Pre 1909 the coaches were manufactured by Wright and Son (Metropolitan C&W). Presuming the Cambrian ran stock on the branch in the same way as their other smaller branches, I would guess that the coaches would be a mixture of 4 wheel coaches either outside framed Metropolitan or those built by Ashbury's. The photo is Blodwell junction showing Ashbury coaches Marc
  6. I can't comment on the GWR coaches but the Cambrian Coaches would depend on the destination of the train. A local train could be made up from 4 and 6 wheelers. The cambrian were still using some of their Metropolitan 4 wheelers until the first world war and some of their Ashbury 4 wheelers survived to be repainted in GWR livery post 1923. Marc
  7. Does anyone want to buy some model railways form a simple travelling model railway seller? It is I Le' Clerck! Marc
  8. Hi everybody Years ago I saw a photo of a small industrial loco passing between a post office and a house. I think it was some where in south wales. I want to say Dowlas Iron works but I could be wrong. Does anyone remember the photo and where I could get a copy? Marc
  9. We make most of our patterns and axle boxes out of the stuff, it takes paint very well and you get good detail Marc
  10. If you want a true Gondola Then what about this one. Furness Railway built, Steam driven and still running on Coniston Water up here in the Lake district. None of this continental stuff here and its positively pre-1923. Marc
  11. Slater's do a small 3/16th motor its not cheep but it might fit. Marc
  12. the top two photos are MW class H 0-4-0ST which there is no kits but there was a ready to run. the third photo is available from slaters. Marc
  13. Which company's interpretation of "Indian Red" are we talking about? Marc
  14. Could we go technical and use Archaeological dating terminology, which would remove any PC or Non PC debate, Before Present. ie 1923 becomes 94BP as this date can be calculated using C14 radio carbon dating Marc
  15. Sorry to be pedantic, (I don't quote religious text easily) there is a well known text and the first words in the book is "And in the beginning......" If its a good way to start the bible then who are we to argue. Marc
  16. High levels gearboxes at 1/8th only but they do their own boxes for 3/16th. We are using 1/8th axles as the R&ER loco has slaters 3ft6 NG wheels Marc
  17. for a small motor try Taff vale models (ex Dragon models) they have a 12xx motor which fits all of the high level kits. I'm designing the Ravenglass and Eskdale 0-6-0T using their motor. Marc
  18. And there was me thinking that we were just taking the p*** out of ourselves! or am I just pedantic? Marc
  19. I try. Now I have to pay for that sort of treatment! Marc
  20. Hi Martin, The only difference I can find is the fire box. The R&ER loco's fire boxes are the same height as the boilers where as the fire box on the Millwall seam to be raised. Not sure what the engineering reason for the difference is. I will be posting the 3D mock ups of the wagons shortly. Marc
  21. We the Amalgamated Rivet Counters, Livery and Lettering Checker's would like to counter your proposal "Pre-grouping - Modelling & Prototype" Forum with "Pre 1923 - Modelling & Prototype" Forum. This would be more acceptable to my members. Marc
  22. As the general secretary of the Amalgamated Rivet Counters, Livery and Lettering Checker's, my members would like see a management proposal of a concrete date so that they can continue with their important pedantry work with out cause for any unnecessary industrial action. If management are unable to produce a proposal which is felt satisfactory to our membership then we intend to work to rule! AND RULES ARE RULES!!! WE WILL FOLLOW THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!! Marc
