    I think you might have to make your own. Its pretty simple but it can be a ball ache. We used to make our own out of 0.75 brass wire but it got to labour intensive so we found a supplier of iron ones. Marc

    I'm presuming we are discussing a 4mm layout here? Marc

    On the gauge o guild website there is a pdf booklet on small 7mm layouts these could be easily scaled down to 4mm and might give you an idea of what you can get away with in a small space. Don't worry about wiring come up with your plan then work out the wires later.     An interesting mix of stock. With this in mind you could go any where in time and space. What do you want to model? You have the opportunity start from scratch. With the space you have you could build 2 layouts. What is the weight of the base boards that you have? Do you want your layout to be portable? Marc

    Oh for the space. My 7mm standard gauge layout "Scratchy Bottom". Have a look at some of the books by Iain Rice. There should be something you can use. For realism less is more. With the space you have you could model a large chunk of branch line or a inner-city industrial area. We had a working 7mm exhibition layout in 8ft by 2ft and it just had 2 points. Our current 7mm layout is 14ft long with 4ft of traverser at each end.

    Hi Robert. Are you a member of the Gauge O Guild? The largest 7mm scale show is actually on this weekend at the International exhibition centre at Telford. The Technical team will be on hand to answer any questions you might have with equipment etc. Also ask the traders we don't bit and most of us are modellers who have fallen into manufacturing. MArc

    From what I have heard both are correct. These design was used from about 1880 through to 1910, and the wheel base does move around. The box part should be 16ft in all cases but the wheel base seems to move between 9ft and 9ft6. I have one of the Dragon 7mm kits and that on a 9ft wheel base. Marc

Whitehaven (Preston St) Seascale Torver (Coniston Branch) Foxfield Kirkby (Slate Wharf) Barrow (Central Passenger/Strand Goods) Ulverston (Former Termini used as goods station) Greenodd (Lakeside branch, Goods shed south of station main goods area to north of station level with viaduct) Arnside (Goods yard between main station, Hincaster Branch and road to Milnthorpe).
