  1. The wheels I'm going to be using are 7mm scale so I have altered the flange ways on the new version. So far drawn out a curved point and two straight ones. 2. Have created a 7mm version as the wheels will be standard gauge 7mm wheels on 3ft axles. I have also found out that I can create points as .dxf files do I can inport them in to autocad and clip them together. Marc
  3. I have templot but I'm not that good at drawing things out with it. I have used the 4mm Irish 5ft3 gauge settings as that is 21mm and came up with this. Marc
  4. SMP point kits can be built at 18mm or 18.83mm so moving them out to 21mm is moving the rails by maximum of 1.5mm each side. The rail weight shouldn't be an issus as its not moving standard gauge to standard gauge. Marc
  5. I had thought of using a SMP/Marcway "EM36 36" POINT KIT COPPER CLAD L/H OR R/H NICKEL SILVER". Only problem is the rail is bullhead. I have a 3way kit but I think I should walk before running. Marc
  6. I'm looking for a shortcut to building some 0-21 narrow gauge points. I originally thought about buying a cheep 00 gauge point and removing he sleepers. Then I thought it might be easier to just re gauge a EM/S4 point kit. Moving the rail apart by 3mm (or 2.12mm for S4). Can anyone see a reason that this is not going to work before I start wasting money? Marc
  7. A polished finish is available but it does cost more. The standard finish is similar to those on our white metal castings. The print lines are less than 0.1mm. Marc
  8. It could be worse at least ebbsfleet is close to civilisation. Come up to Barrow where you have to go through Nowhere city turn west and keep going for 35 miles. 9. These are the first 2 prototypes for our new ready to run tram locos. they are not quite finished but they should be tomorrow. Marc
  10. I will be starting on a kit/RTR for a M/W class L with 3ft6 wheels in 7mm, after Telford. I'm working from drawings in MRJ for Bamburgh and Calwood. Marc
  11. Apologies the link should have been https://www.shapeway...ouping-railways
  12. We now have a range of axle boxes, buffers and othe fixing available to be printed by customers on our shapways site. As we move away from white metal castings to 3D printed fitting in our kits this allows us to offer these parts for sale to the general public. To access these parts go onto our shape ways site at www.shapeways.com/pregroupingrailways more parts will be added as we remove white metal from our kits. Marc
  13. The process started 1917 with war time economy measures. The movement of wagons was wide spread and difficult to actually know where wagons were, with some wagon vanishing completely. The RCH survey for 1920 in the GWR's main goods yard in Bristol showed more none GWR wagons that GWR ones. On the mineral wagon front, the Southern did have some specific mineral wagons inherited from both the SECR, LBSCR and the S&DJR (Via LSWR). These wagon did live long enough to be running in the late 1930's so would fit in to your layout. From the LMS apart from the ones built after 1923 they inherited a large number of mineral wagons from both the Midland, LNWR, LYR, G&SWR and the Cally. These would have still out numbered the ones built by the LMS. LNER minerals wagons would have mainly been from the Great Northern, Great Central and the North British as well as post 1923 build. The largest number of LNER minerals were hoppered to basically a NER designs. Marc
  14. It was seeing the 1 mile to 6 inch map which showed me that there was a siding. The wheels I ordered from slaters arrived this morning, so I can get on with the stock. still not finalised layout of the baseboards I was hoping to use the G&H boards with the valancees but as the station is on a curve i'm also looking at uing the curved boards. Marc
  15. Bring on the new micro layouts Just printed off some templates. the question now is "how small can you get a 5-3-3 inglenook?" Marc
  16. Just ordered one set of 3ft gauge 2ft3 wheels from slater's and they have also put together a set of their 2ft8 Manning Waddell standard gauge wheels on a 3ft axel. These should be here by the weekend. Off to Ravenglass on Sunday to have a look at the new museum that opens on Saturday. Hoping there are some more info in the 3ft gauge. Marc
  17. Yes that's its original form before 1915-16 when it was rebuilt in to 15inch gauge. not sure what caused the wonky coach my guess it would be the track rather than the coach. Marc
  18. Just sent in my application. "Eskdale Green" as it would have looked between 1875 and 1911. It was going to be an entry in to the Dave Brewer Challenge however it turns out that the station wasn't a halt as it had a public siding until 1911. So its going to be modelled in 7mm NG 3ft gauge (0-21) and I'm going to produce all the stock ask kits so its easier for me to built it. I intend to reproduce this photo Marc
  19. I have just found out that "Eskdale Green station" in 1900 wasn't a halt as I first thought it had a siding running from the Ravenglass end with the buffers at the boot end. This now stops it qualifying for the Dave Brewer Challenge. But it does make it more interesting to operate. So as I wasn't going to actually enter the competition this year I'm going to do the job properly and with our rush. So I might enter it into the Cameo layout competition instead. So the new plan is the layout will be built on 1x 900x400 baseboard (with the option of adding more over time if desired) 2x2 road traversers built on 900x400 baseboards, track will be hand built All stock will be built from kits designed for the project DCC sound will be fitted to both locos if possible Plan needs to be finalised before September to allow entry into competition. some of the stock need to be ready or in a buildable state by November 17 for Workington model railway show. Marc
  20. I would recomend the baseboards wh have used them on "Scratchy Bottom" Marc
