  1. It will be closed directly ish!
  2. I will have a look at powsides that might be Christmas and birthday sorted. Marc
  3. With the challenge of building all the rolling stock I'm buying the base boards in as kits from G&H. They have some with a canopy built in. so the block will be 1800 by 445 by 445, with 300 of cassettes on each end. Marc
  4. I would also say NBR empty cask wagon. Not sure who manufactured it. Marc
  5. Pedant warning. I don't want to upset the RCTS but the first of the photos states that the 0-6-0 loco was a LYR loco when it is actually of Furness 1913 13/D5 class. The only Furness class to live into British Railways. MArc
  6. We should have a finished one on the stand at Reading a week on Saturday. Marc
  7. Your a glutton for punishment! Marc
  8. I will see if I have a photo if not I will get one. But in the mean time. I cut a egg shaped cam it has a hole drilled in the small end and has the wire from the gate to the fat end. The is a shackle, from a blue manual point motor, is put through the hole and a rod attached to the shackle. Marc
  9. Why go for something electrical when mechanical will work just as well and wont go down in the middle of a show. Could I recommend a stick with a cam on the end. I use one to open gates on our "Scratchy Bottom" layout it never fails. Marc
  10. Mr UPS delivered these this morning. Going to be demonstrating building the layout this weekend at Workington show. I have a full size plan, the rails, the sleepers, wood stain and now the first of the rolling stock. The 3plk without the door will be fitted with benches as extra coaching stock. Marc
  11. Now let us see how many knob jokes we can all come up with! Its time to stand up and be counted! Marc
  12. I hope this has not been posted before Marc
  13. Glad I didn't put my hand in my pocket now. Marc
  14. I have a 0-9 7mm narrow gauge shunting layout that fits in an Ikea toy box. its 28 inches by 18 inches by 18 inches. Expong always have a competition to build narrow gauge micro layouts were the rules are changed each year, the size of the layout is not scale dependant but by the track gauge used. So for example all anyone using 9mm gauge track regardless of modelling in 0-9 or 00-9 or TT-9 would have to use the same modelling area as the gauge goes out then the area gets greater regardless of scale. These are some photos of my 0-9 layout. Marc
  15. Started work on the saloon coach having spent most of Saturday measuring the reconstruction which sit pride of place in the new museum at Ravenglass. I do have a question for the collective how do you move the topic from its current location to the cameo competition section? Marc
  16. If you haven't got any baseboards yet Grainge and Hodder do baseboard kits. We used them for "Scratchy Bottom" and I will be using them for our next layout "Eskdale Green 1900" www.graingeandhodder.co.uk/store/c1/Featured_Products.html They are light weight and very robust and easy to put together (pin and glue) Marc
  17. Here are a few photos of our standard gauge layouts This is our latest layout "Scratchy Bottom" These are a few photos of our old layout "Ultramarine Works" Marc
  18. Inglenook would be the simplest. have you got a theme you wan't to model? What stock have you? Have you any base boards? We had an Industrial one and we have replaced it with a rural branch which has a inglenook built into it. but on the whole no-one notices it, it gives you something to play with if you haven't put up the traverses and the outer boards. Marc
  19. Bill, I Have ordered you one of the new ones. Due to The cost of production the bunker coal wagon will now only be available as ready to run. I have been told I should have it by the 11th and you should get it a few days later. Marc
  20. We are starting from scratch with everything. The loco's will be printed in the whole but the chassis and coupling rods will be etched nickel silver. Not sure how I'm going to build the coachesbut it could be sides and ends rather than complete prints. Marc
  21. Bill, I PM'ed you re the bunker coal wagons. I have attached a 3D mock up of the wagons in there new form. Marc
  22. Planning is now nearly finished so I will post the track plan shortly. in the mean time I have finished the design work on the 3 plank opens. I found a photo of some being used a temporary summer coaching stock around 1900. So The front wagon has had its door removed on one side and will have benches added to it. I'm also about 75% through designing the 2 plank drop side and the brake van.
  23. Firstly Apologies to anyone trying to download new instructions from the web site. I'm having some IT issues with the laptop which contains all our instructions hoping to have things fixed shortly. Thank you in advance for your patience. We will be showing our new Ready to Run Wagons at Reading show. If you want one please order before the end of October to guarantee you get one. Both are being produced in a small batch so availability will be short. Both are £150 and ready lettered. The first is a Midland/LMS/BR Bunker Coal wagon (used for road stone after 1935) and the second is a Midland/LMS/BR Shunter's Truck.
