  1. No, It doesn't have NEM pockets. It has X9660 plastic tension-lock couplings that clips into position around a pin. It looks like I'm going to have to dismantle the tender chassis in order to remove the support for this coupling, and replace it with a Kadee 5 or equivalent.
  2. Which manufacturer is going to make models of these? [sorry for being boring and repetitive about future RTR Electrostar models]
  3. Farmer Steve decided his injuries from the accident were serious enough to take the trucking company responsible for the accident to court. In court, the trucking company’s fancy lawyer interrogated Farmer Steve. “Didn’t you say at the scene of the accident, ‘I’m fine?”‘ asked the lawyer. Farmer Steve responded, “Well, I’ll tell you what happened. I had just loaded my favorite mule Suzie into the…” “I didn’t ask for any details,” the lawyer interrupted, “just answer the question. Did you not say at the scene of the accident, ‘I’m fine?’” Farmer Steve said, “Well, I had just got Suzie into the trailer and I was driving down the road…” The lawyer interrupted again and said, “Judge, I am trying to establish the fact that, at the scene of the accident, this man told the highway patrolman on the scene that he was fine. Now several weeks after the accident he is trying to sue my client. I believe he is a fraud. Please tell him to simply answer the question.” By this time the judge was fairly interested in Farmer Steve’s answer and said to the lawyer, “I’d like to hear what he has to say.” Farmer Steve thanked the Judge and proceeded, “Well, as I was saying, I had just loaded Suzie into the trailer and was driving her down the highway when this huge semi-truck and trailer ran the stop sign and smacked my truck right in the side. I was thrown into one ditch and Suzie was thrown into the other. I was hurting real bad and didn’t want to move. However, I could hear ol’ Suzie moaning and groaning. I knew she was in terrible shape just by her groans. Shortly after the accident a highway patrolman came on the scene. He could hear Suzie moaning and groaning so he went over to her. After he looked at her, he took out his gun and shot her between the eyes. Then the Patrolman came across the road with his gun in his hand and looked at me.” “He said, ‘Your mule was in such bad shape I had to shoot her. How are you feeling?” “Now what the hell would you say?”
  4. Has anyone converted this loco to Kadee couplers?
  5. So what are they going to do about it? Mumbling won't get them anywhere.
  6. How do you know it's not an Irish whiskey distillery?
  7. That's true, but How many people will notice? Use rule 1: it's my model railway, and I'll run what I like.
  8. I totally agree with you on this one, and I hope whoever it is is well advanced with their Electrostar project as we speak.
  9. Maybe you should get someone with a hawk to sort them out.
  10. Exactly. I must have been lO when I got it.
  11. I was writing O as in HO and OO, and as on the typewriter I had when I was young, which didn't have a zero key, so you had to use a cap-O for it.
  12. I asked the librarian for a book about Pavlov's dog and Schrödinger's cat. She said it rang a bell, but she wasn't sure if it was there or not. Did you hear about the physicist who cooled himself to absolute zero. He's OK.
  13. If that's the case why did they not buy a forward contract with their bankers as soon as they knew how much they would need to pay, which would fix the exchange rate for that batch of models.
  14. My model is an impression of a railway. It is not, and cannot be, totally accurate, due to the many compromises involved in the modelling process. Therefore I am not too bothered about the "problems" that some people have been mentioning in this thread, and I shall not be cancelling my order.
  15. Well that didn't last long. It now says it's sold out and "no longer available from supplier"
  16. Bobby Charlton was asked how he thought the England team of '66 would have fared against Iceland. "I think we'd have won 1-0," he replied. "Only 1-0?" asked the reporter. "Yes," said Bobby. "Most of us are in our 70's now!"
  17. Congratulations for getting it out before Peco.
  18. I know this is in the US, so is off-topic here, but it is a salutary reminder of what can happen at level crossings without gates and traffic signals on the road http://www.standard.co.uk/news/world/tragic-girl-4-asks-for-family-after-waking-up-in-hospital-following-crash-from-which-she-was-sole-a3282516.html
  19. If you've got one of those it could be worth a few bob; there's no year on it.
  20. It's all very well having a loco decorated for the Night Ferry, but what about the coaches and luggage vans? I hope that's not a Fourgon conclusion.
  21. Far be it from me to post something with an overtly political message in rmweb, but ...
  22. I'd rather someone were to release an (or several) Electrostar(s).
  23. Surely 12 finches = 1 ffoot and 36 finches = 1 fyard.
  24. I remember going through the Severn Tunnel in a 4TC on a Rail Ale Ramble many years ago. I'm a pensioner and can't afford these. However, I am ordering two of them, as whether I can afford them or not, I just have to have them.
