ok great let me know how your one runs then! over points especially mine wobbled a lot, more than my other 0-6-0s, it was just not quite smooth enough for me, and for 220 quid i want it to be perfect... (or as close to as possible) cheers tim

I put my magnets about level with the sleepers or maybe v slightly lower. they are situated in slots in the cork underlay. the sleepers are removed in the centre over the magnets. I find half magnets fine but I need to put markers showing where to stop! you need to be precise! tim

ok, well mine is going back to the shop as it has a very slight wobble! not bad, but not right for 220 pounds. I'll exchange it and see how a replacement one runs. positives - it looks lovely v nice livery application and handrails and steps so fine - v good slow speed control - doesn't stall v much at all as wheel base is longer than an 08 - sound is good, I think the 08 and 40 are better though. negatives - no lights (you'd think they could have put a light behind the headcode box and a cab light). a bit lazy by Bachmann. - no stay alive. again lazy by Bachmann. mine didn't stall hardly at all, however sometimes the sound cut out for half a second. I have electrofrog points, those with insulfrog will likely have more issues. - very slight wobble, but i may have been unlucky. could be quartering or wheel slop. not sure. so anyway I'll see what the replacement is like and then decide if i keep it. they are lovely locos and i quite enjoy the paxman engine sounds so hoping I get a good one. cheers tim

update; details trains don't post to the UK. I think I found the equivalent part from when it was a lima made model though so fingers crossed its the same. someone should make a more up to date x2100/x2200... maybe ree or ls modeles will do .. tim

I'll let you know tomorrow after i run mine in and try it out over the points... tim

Hi Does anyone have any worm gear covers for Jouef x2200 please? Or can anyone suggest where to buy some? I emailed details trains to ask if they would post to England but got no reply. The exact part is HJ2202/11z but I suspect some other parts would be the same thing. Maybe even Lima parts as they also made the x2200. Alternatively does anyone 3d print them? Or can I make some alternative part? Cheers Tim

RevolutioN Announces Crowdfunded N Gauge Class 128
bluedepot replied to MGR Hooper!'s topic in Revolution Trains
ah ok, I just thought it was because they had two engines! tim -
hi they have already announced new 16 ton minerals, pig iron wagon, iron ore wagon. tim
-
ok cheers. I'm going to copy ged and fit short couplings. i have 24 wagons now. they are quality models. they run very freely. metal frame. lots of printed on labels on the wagon frame sides. brake pipes stuck on the ends. containers v nice too. tim
-
hi ste yeh one of mine has bogies that don't rotate v freely at all as you describe and so it was derailing. but the other one I got seems fine. running at the end of the train the problem wagon is going round ok, but that's just a temporary solution. I'll see what's causing it and fix it another day. I got two pba white weathered wagons. tim

very nice work on these wagons revolution. i have 18 ready for testing tomorrow evening when i have some time after work. had a few out the box to look at. tim

NEM-363 to NEM 362 conversion pocket
bluedepot replied to bluedepot's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
thanks everyone for the replies! the supplied coupling is like this one in picture. it slots in to a kinematic coupling bar piece. i will try to copy it on a kadee coupling as described above and see what happens anyway. it's from a Hornby jouef rio driving trailer if anyone cares. pretty much all my ho scale french trains have kadee couplings - so it will be simpler to fit this with kadee also. cheers tim -
hi does anyone know where (in the UK) I can buy this conversion piece? apparently it slots into an nem 363 coupling and then accepts nem 362 couplings. picture of the conversion socket piece is on here .. https://www.kadee.com/nem_exact-train/ cheers tim

it's a really tricky shape to get right. hopefully some commissions for a few other liveries will follow my main problem with the 56s has been extremely slow running. painfully slow. I know it was suggested to clean the commutator but I'm not really confident to do that. also the wiring of the lights is annoying. contacts would be better than wires. cheers tim
-
I thought they would come out with a ready to ship all new range of peaks to try and scupper rapido! anyway nothing new, but some nice re-liveries and re-issues. hopefully class 25/3 and 117 in the next announcement!! tim
-
thanks I enjoy all the speculation, wish listing and build up. sad I know lol i have to work next wednesday though so will miss it. oh well. cheers tim

is the autumn announcement on next tuesday or next wednesday?

hi what are new triple grey liveries like on Dapol n gauge models? is it the same lower body-side grey as on the old models, or is it a slightly lighter grey used now? just wondered. I'm not near a shop to go look at any models and can't really tell from online pictures. cheers tim

it's great that adam is with Dapol now and also replying to posts. i think we've all had some let downs from Dapol and felt disappointed (or cross) at times, but also some great models too over the years. great to hear some more products are planned to come. on the m7 - if anyone has pics of their fixed locos please post them and we can see if they are level now and how to lining looks. have a great bank holiday monday tim
-
please make this in n gauge as well rapido!

if anyone cares, I asked on another forum, and apparently esu power packs are compatible. tim

Hi Does anyone know what type of stay alive I would need for a Piko smartdecoder 4.1? I did google and read the manual but couldn't see the answer. Cheers Tim
