  1. Oh and as if I'd forget............ As Gwen tells us, 7, YES, 7 days to go. In fact the hall will be a veritable hive of activity with multiple erections as layouts are placed in accordance with the carefully conceived floor plan. Which reminds me...........
  2. Morning all, This morning we highlight the last of our demonstrators, Stu Hilton aka your own, your very own @Stubby47 Stu is a fixture at SWAG and no members day is complete without him. To locate him within the hall, just follow the trail of chocolate cake crumbs to his table. If you have a need for a bespoke build then Stu is your man. He can obviously be chatted to on the day or contacted via the internet.... https://www.stubby47.com/ Here are a few examples of his trade. Sit down and have a chat because that's what he's there for. Rob
  3. Cropper Street is also one of the star attractions at the SWAG Rmweb members day in a weeks time. Rob.
  4. Googling "bus stop" Great Stoke provides this image. A tap on the red bus confirms it's the T1. A quick google search using "bus services Thornby" provides the following screen shots; Enlarge around Thornby leisure centre. click on red bus thing in image above. Tap orange/yellow T1 thing in image above. Bus on the yellow line moves to allow you to check on progress. Rob.
  5. Oh and while we're at it....... Relevant form required.......... SWAG2024 Bring and Buy Form-Extremly Very Final Form Rev3.docx I thank ewe once again....
  6. Which brings me nicely onto..... If visitors could bring a mug with them then it will help out the Crack Catering Team by reducing the periodic bouts of washing up throughout the day leaving them free for more important tasks such as cutting cake and warming pasties. I thank ewe.
  7. Morning all, In what appears to be our last ( but by no means least) layout featurette we come to Ruyton Road, now in the care of Paul Bannerman who has sympathetically recommissioned and refurbished this seminal cameo layout. It was built by the late John Spencer to EM gauge and appeared at a number of shows in the 1990’s and the early years of the new century. This layout also featured in MRJ, issues 75 ( 1994 ) and 170 ( 2006 ). Once in Paul's care, Ruyton was converted to P4 but the layout maintains the original premise, that of the terminus of an imaginary branch from the Shropshire and Montgomeryshire Railway between Kinnerley Junction and Ruyton Town with a stub serving a nearby quarry. Always difficult to upgrade an old layout, Ruyton being some 30yrs old, but fair to say Paul has managed this quite successfully and at the same time, preserved John's original aim of giving exhibition visitors not only a flavour of a Colonel Stephens light railway line in the 1920’s but that of one of the first finescale Cameo layouts. Rob.

  9. Agreed, Paul. I'm toying with an NG7 version of Sheep Dip ............or using the NG7 shed etc for a rather down at heel standard gauge industrial light railway....or........... Rob
  10. It seems the only grumbling about this launch is the decision to stick with the 16.5 trackwork, commercially obvious and better to attract new modellers to the range and the use of a new name for the range. I rather like Bachmann's NG7 term. It's so straightforward. I've always found 0-16.5 a bit of a mouthful and therefore I do hope that the use of NG7 catches on. Rather looking forward to these and hoping for the Mainline Hunslet to follow on. Rob.
  11. Morning all, Eleven days to go.......Don't miss out ! Rob.
  12. Can't put my finger on it but there's something fishy about that.......

  14. Wisbleat and Tupwell does have a nice sound to it............ R
  15. And continuing with the East Anglian theme, we have a view of a J70 at Ewe, a now forgotten extension of the Wisbech and Upwell tramway. Rob
  16. Essentially, Bachmann are providing us with a lovely little, ready made, narrow gauge cameo layout....... Or an opportunity to use the engine shed/store/water tower for a idiosyncratic standard gauge light railway scenario.... Having already done that in 4mm, the prospect of doing same in 7mm does appeal. Rob
