  1. Simple Steve. Change the point at the bottom into a sector plate and use the shed as a view blocker/screen. Walbys axiom carried out- more than 2 etc etc- and its all on one board. I'm here all week! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  2. 'Big fan of his 3 point layouts, although I'm sure I've heard someone say more than 2 points is an extravagance!' Quite correct Steve. Looking forward to seeing how this develops!! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  3. Some damn fine videoing there Lachute, thanks for posting those up. Disgusting of Market Harborough
  4. Oh and for those who haven't twigged yet, this is my first foray into O gauge and it all fits into 4ft 6 by 1ft 6. Disgusting of Market Harborough
  5. Think its about time we broke cover with this one. Its been slowly taking shape over the last 18 months, doing a few exhibitions en route. The track plan is fairly straightforward (thanks to Clive for his diagram, lifted from Steve Farmers Hillport Goods thread!) . Would you believe that its acrually based on a prototype! The real Tudwick Road Siding was the end of the line of the Kelvedon and Tollesbury Light Railway after it closed to passengers in 1952. Freight traffic to Tiptree and Tudwick Road carried on until 1964, usually worked by either a Hunslet or Drewrey (or 05s and 04s as us youngsters know them as) from Colchester shed. This was usually the Witham shunt and trip pilot from what I can understand. I've. .....erm........bent the truth a little and imagined that the line petered out sometime in the late 70s and was worked by a Colchester 08 (at some point 08202 will become 08228), with traffic consisting of coal and sundries to Tiptree, mainly for the jam factory, traffic from a scrap dealer who set up at Inworth and coal for the coal merchant at Tudwick Road. On the layout, it is imagined that any traffic from Tudwick Road is worked up from Tiptree - its only 300 chains up the line- usually just the odd wagon or two. Oh and Tudwick Road didnt cross the line by an overbridge, it was an ungated crossing, but rule one applies! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  6. They look fine to me Rob! When can we see the final final track plan Wayne? Disgusting of Market Harborough
  7. Surprised not to see any mention of this small but perfectly-formed show on RM web. Anyone in the Lincs area requiring a break from the biblical rain of yesterday should pop along to Caistor Town Hall, just off the A46 for a look today! Some 13 layouts in virtually every scale and gauge, and some equally fine traders too. I'll be the one purverying quality railway literature with the boss lady! Well worth a look and only 3 of your English pounds to get in! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  8. Liking this Mike, especially the diesel shunter?. Will it be at the NEC in the naughty corner with the other micros....... Disgusting of Market Harborough
  9. Such kind words Chris!! Should anybody wish to, I will have another small but perfectly-formed meeting place..........er..........layout there this year! I will also have my glamorous assistant Clive there too. The place to be is Tudwick Road siding- 4ft 6inches of O gauge frippery over in the 'Naughty Corner'! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  10. Back in downtown Market Harborough now after an excellent weekend showing off window fitments on Tudwick Road! Seriously, there was a great deal of interest shown by a goodly bunch of people, and not just the novel method of operating the sector plate! Hats off the the chaps and chapesses of Fareham club- a stonkingly good show on all counts. Well done! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  11. About 4 ft 6 by about 1ft 6.. Disgusting of Market Harborough

  14. Echo those sentiments totally Richard! The best Olney show I've ever done. Well looked after, some good layouts and numbers seemed up. Big thanks to Malc and the gang. Disgusting of Market Harborough
  15. Like Peter, its a show that I look forward to. Not a big show, but a very laid back pleasant atmosphere as Peter states. I always regard it as the 'season opener' after the summer break......such as it is these days.. Tudwick Road will be there in all its nearly finished finery! Disgusting of Market Harborough

  22. URGENT INFORMATION FOR PEOPLE COMING IN VIA THE A6 OR THE A427 Due to that wonderful organisation, Severn Trent Water, deciding that this weekend would be a good time to restart work on improving water pressure in our part of town, certain roads on the instructions will be closed. Apologies for this- this closure only went in today. So here is the UPDATED directions- From the A6 (both directions) and A427 Follow your respective route until you reach the roundabout where the A427 joins the A6 Market Harborough by-pass (2nd roundabout if you’re coming from Leicester; at the bottom of a hill if you’re coming in from the other routes). At the roundabout take the A4304 towards the town centre, passing across the Tesco roundabout, until you reach the first set of traffic lights. At the lights carry straight on, under the railway bridge and past the station to the next set of lights. At these lights, turn left over a little bridge (Aldi on your right) to the roundabout. Take the 2nd turn off the roundabout (you can't miss it, its got a ROAD CLOSED AHEAD sign in it). Follow this road passing the Cherry Tree public house. Just after the Cherry Tree, turn right into Rectory Lane. Follow Rectory Lane past the church on your left and you will see the venue on your left. I would suggest if you're coming in from the Kettering direction that you use the A14 and come into Harborough following the directions from J2. Basically, for those who know the area, the closure is under the Kettering Road railway bridge. Disgusting of Market Harborough
  23. Bumpity bump. Showtime tomorrow! Disgusting of Market Harborough
