  1. Loving your work Steve. Definitely going to have to have a word with Ken about this!................ Enjoying the way you use the great and the goods opinions on here to decide on building positioning etc to assist you! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  2. Only just come across this for some reason- saw White Swan on the recent posts bits and decided to have a shufty, because its one of those places I find interesting! Glad I did- Paul, thats a smashing diorama and I feel quite humble that Friday Bridge and our little chat has brought forward such results....... The next question is, When are you going to build the whole White Swan coal yard? it would make an ideal small micro project and if you do it in EM then Martin Wales may invite you to Expo EM North, or whatever its called this week! An 04, and half a dozen nicely detailed 16t minerals and you're on a winner, in my book anyway! Go to it my man! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  3. Ralf Sorry, a bit late to the show on this one, but with regard to your loop/inglenook conundrum mentioned earlier, why not just use the initial Rice trackplan but , instead of having the whole run round on scene, why not have both roads of the loop running off scene, where the two could be linked by a sector plate...... Just a thought Disgusting of Market Harborough
  4. Sorry to be a Miserable Manfred but could this somewhat elongated conversation be carried on on another page please Mods? Whilst I'm sure that all the opinions forwarded are valid and well-reasoned ( and I did like the story of the a**e in the Audi getting the bums rush at B&M!) and I respect those views to some degree, would it be possible to move these to another thread? I'm sure the original intention of this thread was to actually inform punters and exhibitors of postponed or cancelled shows and, while common sense at this point in time would point to everything being off at the moment, it would be nice not to have to wade through pages of froth to discover whether a show is taking place at the moment..... A case in point would be the Wycombe exhibition in November. I have heard rumours that its off on Facebook, but have yet to see anything in this thread regarding its status although it may have been mentioned in amongst all the froth......... Just my opinion! 5. I bet the gaffer of Knype fuels will be pleased, where are they going to unload the second wagon- into the outside khasi? Looking good Steve... Disgusting of Harket Marborough
  6. You too Tel mate!! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  7. Dont say that to him Mike- the Dcc on Tudwick Road confuses him! And thats only 2 sidings! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  8. It's possible that Holme on the ECML used to be. The village itself is around 9 feet below sea level. The posts in nearby Holme Fen (reputedly salvaged from The Crystal Palace in 1851) mark sea level. I would hazard that its a good bet that it is, bearing in mind the pub next door, The Admiral Wells is the lowest below sea level in the UK.........Good Pub!! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  9. 'Bout bloody time an' all! Well done Richard. Look forward to seeing some progress....... Disgusting of Market Harborough
  10. When designing small layouts remembers Walbys Axiom More than 2 points is an extravagance I heartily concur with my esteemed colleague Mr E Western....less is more Disgusting of Market Harborough
  11. Looking cracking Tone, look forward to seeing it... Disgusting of Market Harborough
  12. Back in Harborough now with Cath after a rather splendid day at a very splendid show. Well done Paul, Brian and Peter for putting an excellent show together. As we found when we took Friday Bridge a couple of years back, the people who attend this gathering are attentive and enthusiastic folk who are genuinely interested in what we're doing which, in turn, enthuses the exhibitors! It may even enthuse Wayne to get Tunnock Yard finished! Certainly it looks like its got plenty of potential so far! Gilbert, I wish you had introduced yourself, I do like your stuff you do. Mind you, the photo of Tudwick Road looks like I'm dropping off to sleep! Once again then chaps, well done and thanks for asking us to attend. Disgusting of Market Harborough
  13. Blimey Steve, you're knocking out layouts quicker than me! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  14. Found it Bryn! Good to see you today Disgusting of Market Harborough
  15. Steve I was just about to suggest something similar- cut a recess out of the embankment maybe a bit like this..... Just a thought! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  16. 'I hope those bemoaning the lack of a layout with WOW factor have booked tickets for next year when a certain little 0 gauge layout will be in attendance?' It was already there you daft hap'orth! Just opposite the HMA........ Disgusting of Market Harborough
  17. That would take some doing Mike........its operated from the front! As you will see at Risley in January! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  18. Blimey, someone actually talks about and takes pictures of some of the layouts, rather than banging on about how they got there or where they parked. Good for you James Petts, nice to see something about the layouts in 15 pages of travel froth! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  19. Thank you for those kind words Jerry. For those of you visiting this weekends bun struggle at the NEC, Tudwick Road will be there in all its finery. You can't miss us, well you can if you know what I mean, - we're in the naughty corner, bang smack opposite a thumping great 12inch to the foot scale MGR hopper! Come and hoot and jeer!!! Disgusting of Market Harborough
  20. Originally, I was hping to build this in my normal gauge of choice Russ- EM. The reason I did it in 7mm was because I had, like many more, a Dapol 08 and I felt with compression it was possible to build a reasonably accurate representation of the real Tudwick Road in a small space. With making the sector plate the length of an 08 and 2 16 tonners, it means that a certain amount of thought is required when shunting, irrespective of gauge! Mind, you make a very good point about the 'satisfaction ' factor of O gauge... Disgusting of Market Harborough
  21. Clive The gap situation may be sorted before we get to Warley (yes folks, we're in the naughty corner as usual!) so watch this space, although sceneryizing the sector plate, or part of it, may not get done in time Toplink! Stu The shunter wont be weathered in time for Warley cos its going to end up as Colchesters 08 228- it has all the right hinges and boxes on it. Only trouble is the period of the layout is around 1975 and , of course as you know, 08228 was green still at this time. A repaint is on the cards therefore! Mind you Alan Monk has sold me a green shunter which I may just repaint in blue yet! And the picture of the semi-automatic sector plate operational equipment will follow soon. Disgusting of Market Harborough
  22. Looks good Wayne. Looking forward to seeing it in January..... Disgusting of Market Harborough
  23. Well, a good day playing on Clives train set. One or two gremlins but nothing that a few well-placed obscenities couldn't cure! Thanks mate. Disgusting of Market Harborough
  24. So wheres this trackplan Wayne? Disgusting of Market Harborough
  25. Liking your plan Steve, some sort of arborial addition may be helpful! Disgusting of Market Harborough
