  1. Just started looking at them, but so confusing, I know about the old Airfix BR cattle wagon kit and the Cooper Craft GWR kit, also the old Mainline LMS model. But what is out there and which ones are decent models? The different railways wagons also looked to be quite similar. Anything which would have been found in West Country in say 1960.
  2. I saw one in Exeter so I assume yes, the West Country.
  3. Tony, some of those larger model lamps look like they would scale up to the size of a washing machine. That ain't a light lens, that's a door for washing.

  7. I have found while spotting (70s and 80s) that the unusual was common. The excursion was not that rare. The unusual loco could be daily with different ones. I found with North West/North East to South West services that there were patterns rather than anything else. I saw more Eastern Region stock on these services than on the Eastern Region, and more of their 47s. You would see at least 1 Midland Region mark 1 set and airbraked non aircon mark 2 set per session. Most Peaks were seen except Midland Main Line pets. So seeing say an ECML aircon set heading off to Cardiff was seen often but not all the time.
  8. One final question. Were these converted to electric lighting, and if so what changed externally? Thanks Martin
  9. I do remember 1960s. I remember watching some bloke on the moon. I also disliked Beetle music. First chart song I liked was Riders of the Storm.
  10. My DMU complete except for cab interiors. Mix of etched sides, kit components, rtr parts, and resin cast.
  11. Last one i saw the same, by side of road.
  12. You chop up Triangs like I chop up Airfix aircons. That said why I am producing TSOs and BGs from Triangs rather thay buying Bachmann - cost. Plus the fact that Triang were crude but accurate.
  13. Spotting red underline for seen, black for hauled or rode in.
  14. Chivers van on Helston branch Had a look through my book, plenty of cattle wagons, a meat wagon, lots of non corridors BR and GWR, small Prairies and NBL type 2s
  15. I am doing a lot of coach conversions and my GRCW 119 is nearly finished.
  16. Embarrased I hit a pinch point and broke my cars front spring so called MM on my contacts for the local LR specialist. And who did I get? Jim Ooops!
  17. I will have to have a look as that branch is still a possible for a small layout. Even have a small prarie and a 22 just in case.
  18. One day I will finish the transfers on my Triang A3, I decided 30 years ago the lining was not good enough and the boiler had to be see through underneath. Got a 5 pole MRRC motor in it and used its X04 in another Triang loco. Then started modding the tender to be like the 1970s version.
