  1. Was lost in a box for nearly 3 years. In that time broke an ankle, done a lot of DIY, and coach detailing. Today working on the bonnet wasp strips but made a mistake on the yellow, now fixing.
  2. Nice to see the fun trains as well. The visitors from Sodor and the early 80.
  3. I remember getting my Sunbeam up something like 7200 rpm in top once, it just ran off the top of the power curve.
  4. There have been multiple video tape audio speeds and types. I have used linear mono and stereo at 1.87 cm per second and HiFi stereo at 5.8m/s the higher speed one was analogue at CD quality. Digital at 48/16bit slightly better than CD MPEG 2 encoding. And all are capable of recording sounds you don't want. I used external microphones to great effect. MPEG2 was a let down as the picture was better, but needed more room for video,
  5. And in the 70s went the other way, the Rootes 1600 was very oversquare and could rev pretty high. I think the OHC Ford 1600 was also oversquare
  6. Just finished watching Hong a programme on c5 walking the Waverley route. Old film of LNER Pacifica, 47s, Peaks, Deltics, and some preserved stuff.
  7. The IC225 bogie tests. Hmm you are right, I had poor quality information, off the internet. https://www.125group.org.uk/tag/43102/ Sorry!
  8. In later years 43102 & 43159 did the Diesel record same area.
  9. OK I have unwittingly been pulled into a EM vs P4 battle. I am planning on building a small plank for some fun using EM (because it is easier than P4) and Peco track. Worked out about £100 worth of EMGS Streamline. No more than 6 locos, 8 coaches, depending on what I find. Modellers licence taken on age of stock and service (right area, locos are local to it, even seen photos of some real life carriages available as simple kits). Simply put in EM wheel sets into the bogies and the first two locos are broken anyway. One jammed loco chassis with tender drive, one body only display model). Been getting replies, PMs and profile posts pushing P4. A bit insidious.

    Revised Mk3s?

Pity that the TGS is a different moulding (Lima) to the other vehicles, and still no TRSB.
  11. So looking at about £100 to £150 in track. Not too bad. And all this started by looking for pictures of closed stations trying to work out which one stayed open because the still open ones are too big. (up to 8m just for a platform) or too boring. Compare Ashchurch 1950s to the closed run through.
  12. I just want to build a small layout as a trial, too much is OO to move the lot. So going to use a completely different time period.
  13. I could almost hear the unique sound of them
  14. So what is the track like then? What price is it and how much for points? If I can afford enough will join EMGS
  15. Reliants try a bike engine, https://www.motor1.com/news/266441/reliant-rialto-motorcycle-engine/ 2CV how about a decent flat twin? https://engineswapdepot.com/?p=21261
  16. I recently relaid ours about 11 or 12m2 Just need to find some track
  17. Steam loco sound. The old Triang tender based rubbing strip was as good as a lot of DCC steam sound. I heard a DCC steam in a shop and thought it was junk.
  18. Actually partially deaf people require better quality sound, I am slightly hearing impared* and cannot stand a lot of audio compression. * Tinnitus from an infection.
  19. Current jobs are transfers on WR AC Rake 2 BFKs Stripping 3 Lima 2B TSOs Reminding Brian Hanson And restarted paint on PWM650 as I found it yesterday.
  20. The real life Hunslet along with the PWMs got me into small shunters.
  21. Handrails wasp stripes and quartering. I remembered your short lesson on one axle at a time. Then on with more Cambrian departmental and a modified Dapol crane kit.
  22. My post failed But I would be in the E Type
