  1. I have mark ones from Triang Hornby Mainline Replica Lima Bachmann Coopercraft partial Comet partial 247 Early Mainline looked good but were slightly out of scale. Lima appeared to be copied from Triang but more of them,, very deep windows, ripe for Cometing Dimensions for Lima Triang matched Comet, I THINK 247 matched early Mainline so need some extendng. Bachmann are nicest but most expensive. Replica and late Mainline are next best, only let down by no flush glazing. Blue Grey set is Bachmann GWR150 converted Triang, next Blue GRey will use my medium pile of Lima with some form of flush glazing when I can work out how. Coopercraft are a few random preserved. The late Mainline, the Replicas, a few TH conversions , and some Cometed Lima are to be ran with various Mark 2 sets. I like consistency within a set if possible
  2. I am just trying to produce coaches on the cheap, I could have modded Bachmann but they would still require a repaint. The BG is in the same set as the RMB and a load of Mark 2Cs. A 45/1 will be pulling them. Currently waiting on Brian for 2ABC parts The BSK and TSOs will run behind 75069. The real vehicles were painted from the same batch of paint as my models. The old Triang based models are pretty accurate but crude, well worth using for detailing.
  3. I find I have to file Triang door holes bigger and shim the bottom of the window, then file back until window fits for big ones. RMB fit fine, CK BSK too big.
  4. I am using Triang BSKs to produce other vehicles, so far 4 BSKs and a few CKs have produced. A Blue Grey NEA on B4s A Choc Cream BSK 2 x Choc Cream TSOs A BFK All with Replica Glazing Need 3 or 4 more TSOs in Choc Cream But running out of Choc Cream paint.
  5. It is slow but I am fine with that.
  6. I had some advice at Warley about casting resin and today I have been casting more seats for my 119 DMU The little bit of wire works brilliantly. But I only have 9 second class moulds and need another 50 or so. The seats for the DMBC are complete, TBSL 1/4 done and DMSL to start. Thanks GR
  7. It is going to have a huge effect for many businesses. Models are only a tiny bit. I just hope for everyones sake it dies down again soon.
  8. I last went about 30 years ago and remember getting stopped on my bike on the A38 on the way back. I parked right outside as well. Can't remember where I put helmet and gloves.
  9. I like it and Amazon Prime I consider good value.
  10. Will people get the reference though?
  11. I spent a couple of hours sticking seats on the floors, and then found I have not made my DMS floor yet.
  12. I had a car where base engine was a Coventry Climax Imp engine and top engine was 2.2l Lotus slant 4 and most common engine a reasonably decent 1600 I ripped out a Climax and dropped in a 1600 and then tuned it. Nearly tripled the power.
  13. Would still be slow in what mine was compared to the bigger options.
  14. I did used to have an Imp engine in a totally unsuitable car. So I sold it to a trike owner and replaced it with a Rootes 1600, then tuned it. 42bhp -> 69bhp -> 115bhp. Imp engine, smooth but slow, will eventually get to 80 on a long run. 1600, with same gearing, similar top end but in gear acceleration wow! Tuned and upgeared, would go off speedo, would also beat many hot hatches. Most Imp engine versions of this car are gone, many good shells repurposed with 1600 or 2200 engines.
  15. Brilliant game but then I am a fan of Guerilla Games. Oh Destiny has had a big mess up
  16. A good innings anyway Very entertaining chap, will be missed RIP
  17. Good use of an older Mercedes floor pan with the 300C. It means it can actually do corners.
  18. I think I prefer mine! Yes I have parked there when carting daughter to uni.
  19. Decided I am going to modify that rake and use W14152, and decide that W14159 is up for repair instead. Then I can shuffle them around and produce yet another set. Yes 4 separate sets with W14159, 2 with W14077, 1 with W14152 and 1 not paired.
  20. I have a similar issue Hornby 110, what can I do with it? Nice model, not WR or MR
  21. Just painted 16 corridor connectors, all in satin black as it was handy. Will paint the 2 end ones in fawn and red. All were cut down, now using my special Airfix corridor connection cutting down jig. Wil be fitting the joiners for the cams soon, then I can see what the set (so far) looks like.
  22. They are all different. Lima are a good profile but slightly tall on the sides. Airfix are a good size but the sides do not turn under enough. Newer models not so sure on. Best profile is the very old Triang Hornby Mark 2. 2D FOs were not common in working with anything but other 2D, 2D FKs were more common user. But noone does the full set of DEF so no matter what you do modifying is essential, so I use Airfix simply due to 1) Reasonable accurate, 2) Have around 20, 3) Not that expensive. 4) Need a repaint anyway.
  23. W5879 and W14159 share a donor Also the second WR set has sprung a problem, I will have to change the set. The problem is W14159. Just checked a large pile of spotting documentation. FOUR 2D BFKs over a large number of sets W14140 W14147 operating together W14152 W14159 operating together W14159 on own W14159 with W14077 EVERY twin BFK set I have seen contains 1 or 2 of the above. Only ONE does not have W14159
