  1. Tony was busy I managed a hello and that was it, but chatted to Jesse for about 20 minutes.
  2. I had great difficulty getting to see many layouts, but there were a couple of noisy ones.
  3. Now have 6 vehicles finished except for hand rails and gangways for my Western Region aircon set. The other 3 need 1xobtaining, 1xfinish converting and 1xMk 2 frames. Worked out need 4 TSO frames and 5 TSO glazings to finish all my Airfix aircons. Now need to work out IF I need any 2D BSOs or if I can sacrifice them for a 2E TSO.
  4. Both techniques look usefull. So that is 16 soon to be 18 for set WR CDEF and 12 for set ER 1D So tempted to modify 1 and resin cast the 30 I need. So had a look in my book and I reckon for non end simply lopping 1.5mm to 2mm off should work fine, 3 detailed, 27 chopped. Got some Keen close couplers to fit as well. My 2ABC sets though are getting Replica B4s as Lima are a bit weak looking, Out of my first 6 sets, 1 complete, 1 75%, 1 50%, 2 third done 1 quarter done. Currently a bit peed off as while glazing fitting I pinged off half the frames on one of my 2F FOs. Also I forgot how much work to convert to 2F, but when the set goes 50 CDEFFEDEE, so far taken 3 FOs 3 BSOs 3 TSOs, and still need another TSO or 2xBSO. Out of my big pile only 5 are only detailed. 1 2C BSO (BSO) 5 2D TSO 1 2D FK (FO) 1 2D BFK (BSO & FO) 1 2D TSOT (TSO) 3 2E TSO (2xTSO,2xBSO) 2 2F FO (FO) 2 sets and not a single out of box, even the Replica ER BG is B4'd air and flush. As to the ER buffet that was done over a year in the end.
  5. I know the gangways are too long. How much should I chop off them?
  6. Got more frames today and glaizng, enough to finish the WR set EXCEPT the 2C BSO And the 5th vehicle of my ER set.
  7. Now started to mass produce seats, but had problems with poor moulding. Spent a usefull 20 minutes chatting to Graeme of V2 fame about casting.
  8. Got 3 today and 2 lots of frames
  9. I saw someone playing a Train Simulator at Warley on a PS4. They were doing all the cab stuff
  10. I ran a network cable to my PS4 from the hub. Used to be another hub under TV but that fried so only PS4 now on network
  11. And now I have learnt to quarter and put on Gibson style wheels
  12. Blackfriars Bridge is one I go to the far end of, nicely modelled but I can see it better in this picture. About a decade ago it was easier to see the layouts and chat to the exhibitors.
  13. Nice to say a brief hello to Tony and Jesse. Also had a lesson in quartering with Mike Edge. Cleaned out Shawplan on 2D TSO glazing. And some good advice on casting with Graeme. I was the lump with a crutch (damaged vertebra from a fall and a weak ankle from a break). As to the layouts, to be honest not overly impressed for multiple reasons. Reason 1, a few train sets. Reason 2, a few reasonable scenic layouts where someone has vomited various RTR stock on to it. Reason 3, I could not get near quite a few, got near enough to some. Reason 4, trains, yes they had one occasionally. Reason 5, hand of god, seemed pretty common. Reason 6, lovely layouts, but just did little for me, little running, not much to do. Reason 7, small layouts with tons of viewers. To be honest I gave up after a while, I missed some I wanted to see. Any layout operators unhappy, were you so blocked I could not get to see?
  14. Looks like Stadia is well overpriced. Rental PLUS cost of game with no discounted options. Unless Google can get hold of one of the big companies games libraries as an exclusive I do not think it will do well. But I think wait and see.
  15. So they were what became the Cardiff sets. I am quite pleased though that my CF 116 is gangway fitted
  16. Bristol 116 sets? I do not know much about those, just the Cardiff and Tyseley sets
  17. And a 116 DMS The 119 (all 3) now in B&G and with Lima chassis awaiting bogies.
  18. If my layout was set any older I would need a Falcon and a few Westerns. Anything West of England in the early 80s would require at least 5 x 50s. Peaks were not everywhere but they were very common where I grew up.
  19. I find it is difficult to avoid a small number of rare vehicles. If you model a certain period and region and something was very common there you have to have it. Try a 1970s ECML layout without a few members of a class of 22 Diesels.
  20. I considered a Westfield at one stage,, I was going to do a version normally using Ford Escort components using Rootes components, but could not afford it. Was going to use a tuned 1600cc Avenger lump.
