  1. What are they charging for them postage wise?
  2. Other suppliers have them now i.e Model Railways Direct, slightly dearer but the rest of the items I wanted were £13 cheaper than Hattons.
  3. Another weekend of blundering officals, the sooner they have an offical watching the tv images the better. A goal given despite a blatent handball at Stoke and a player sent off at Oldham for a perfectly good tackle. And if players knew tv images were being watched and acted upon we would have, I would suggest, no play acting that is causing many to wonder why they bother watching.
  4. until

  5. Regarding the set M7 it is should be possible to easilly remove the dog tags as the smokebox door and front panel can be forced apart by a good tap from inside as I have done it on an earlier short framed release in order to replicate Bournemouths 30040. The handrail is not continuous and its joined on the sides of the smokebox so I ended up with three loose parts - the smokebox front with the curved section of handrail attached it , the smokebox door and the what looked like a plastic lamp iron from where it came from I could not identify. If you are lucky maybe the door alone will come off from which the dog tags can be trimmed, filed, wet and dried away.
  6. Problem with leaving sections for PTEs to fund is that they are likely to only fund a system that can only cope with 4 car emus such as the problems that have existed in running 91s to Skipton.
  7. Sheffield to Moorthorpe is an obvious extension to link with the Donny-Leeds electrification. Very worried that the MML will be electrified as cheap as poss so that its just Bedford-Nottingham and Trent South-Derby-Sheffield so missing out the Erewash Valley and, as daft as many other schemes, the north side of the triangle at Trent.
  8. The actual Roco couplings give a better close up of the gap betwen the coaches than Hornbys slightly longer version, although on a Peco small Y the M7 will derail if a pair of Roco couplings are used, on the end of the push pull and the M7 - one needs to be a Hornby one. Noticed that the review in Model Rail refers to a 4 wheel van being sometimes used - how was this arranged, between the push pull and the loco or hauled on the end depending to the direction of travel?
  9. Conflicting details are given on the Southern Railway Modelling web site where 608 to 615 are given as Western section sets.
  10. For an identification on an analogue control panel of the way the signal is set a point lever or similar monentary switch could be used with both outputs wired together such as those sold by Hornby or Peco for point motor operation.
  11. The 56 was not produced by Replica, it was one of the Mainline locos which Palitoy rather than Kader owned the tooling and was sold to Dapol.
  12. In stock at http://www.modelrailwaysdirect.co.uk/Hornby-R4534-BR-Pull-Push-Pack-2-Car/
  13. 63670 is supposed to be the weathered version ! Wonder if the loco tender coupling is as shown or will it actually have a mass of wires as well.
  14. There was to have been a City of Truro in the 1979 range (R700) but postponed before the catalogue was released - the year never came for it. The J36 was to be R558, a proposed release for 1980 and the 45xx R355 for 1981 as well as a Dean Goods.(R354) They also thought about a Park Royal railbus, a Ivatt 2 2-6-2T, Class 07, Class 17, V2 2-6-2, V1 2-6-2T and 56xx 0-6-2T. Given Hornbys habit for producing regionally very limited locos then maybe an 07 might just appear.
  15. Yes it was something like that - they probably based it on the Test Matches which were used when the Football League was extended to two divisions in 1892; the top team in Div2 played the bottom team in Div1, the second top played the second bottom, and the third top played the third bottom. Att he end of the 1892/3 Notts County were relegated after finishing third bottom but losing lost 3-2 to Darwen, the two teams below Notts stayed up - Accrington and, at the bottom, Newton Heath. As the latter became Man U how history may have been different if automatic promotion/relegation had existed.
  16. Apologies - just get fed up of people who seem to think football only exists in the Premiership. Was watching an old recording of a Midlands derby match in what is now the Championship - one player picked the ball up on the edge of his own penalty area, ran the whole length of the pitch to score. The commentator ridiculed the goal as being agricultural - now if it was Rooney.... 3 up 3 down came into existance before the playoffs came about - with West Ham in mind they won the 2nd division (now Championship) for the 1980/1 season and were promoted along with Notts County and Swansea City. The playoffs were introduced from the 1986/7 season.
  17. Outside of the Premiership (where incidentally most football teams and real fans can be found) we are now into the farce of the playoffs. This season more than any other it is a complete joke that the team finishing the place below the automatic promotion places has to playoff when you look at the points they have gained compared to the other playoff teams. The playoffs have achieved their aim of giving more teams something to play in the last few games of the season for but that should be something other than promotion (Bonus points next season? cannot be relegated ?). I say that not as a fan of any team that is in the playoffs this year but of one that has only ever managed to win the playoffs when it finished in what would otherwise have been an automatic promotion place. I really feel sorry for fans of Wrexham who having finished way above anyone else, and who should be looking forward to a place in the Football League again, now find themselvws 2-0 down at half time in the play off semi.
  18. That smashed up wreck sold for £92
  19. Top one is a DS10 - other looks like its a 5 pole X03/4 replacement motor.
  20. And we can only guess at what price this wreck will go for http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160786946989?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
  21. Noticed the alternatives of renumbering etc one of the main Bachmann ones or buying from the NRM missed a couple of clowns on ebay which resulted in one selling for £175 last week!!
  22. They have new stock of the red framed version http://www.nrmshop.co.uk/models/product/276887/city-of-truro.html
  23. Suspect they went for the Modified Hall as they have the chassis bar a few tweaks.
  24. Um...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MIKES-MODELS-37-KIT-BUILT-GW-GWR-MEDIUM-GOODS-PLATFORM-CRANE-NEW-ms-/220981776989?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item33738a525d or somewhat cheaper brand new http://www.holtmodelrailways.co.uk/photo.php?code=MM37
  25. The usual it pays to shop arond before placing an order with anyone - my last purchase from Antics was cheaper than Hattons once you took the P&P rates into account.
