  1. No other loco nor wagon or coach is in three figure quantities. Hornby setrack pieces are upto 5546 (R609), their own brand decoders upto 2546 (Next 18) and there are 1358 packs of Skale Lighting plugs and 1030 of the fuses! Their own brand wagon loads are upto 233. Other items over 99 are; 1243 Hattons track pins 845 Hornby Magazine Loco Manual – Vol 1 Express Steam 528 Hornby R8250PU Controller with wall plug 459 Hornby R9284 Skaledale Station Office 424 Intentio OO Street pavement - pack of 4 internal corner stones 402 Intentio OO Street pavement - pack of 4 external corner stones 365 Dapol OO Catenary wires 10 x 138mm 363 Intentio OO Street pavement – pack of 4 with manhole covers 293 Peco HO Code 83 Unifog Diamond Crossing 259 Hornby R8014 Point Motor 240 Hattons Digital Solenoid Point Motor Decoder 238 Hornby RJ12 cable 211 Intentio OO Street pavement – pack of 4 straights 201 Intentio OO LNER/BR trackside speed signs (32) 162 Peco HOn3 flexible track 160 Hornby R978 Brick walling corners 145 Intentio OOLNER/BR lineside platelayers hut 134 Oxford Diecast OO Land Rover Defender 110 with rail wheels Railtrack 128 Dapol OO Catenary wires 10 x 155mm 120 Peco OO scatter – woodland ground cover 143 Hattons screwdriver set inc tweezers 119 Hornby R7337 transformer 115 X-Trains bookazine 115 Hornby R8087 Track Cleaning Rubber 113 How to build your first Hornbhy train set with DVD 113 Hornby R8249 decoder 104 Hornby R510 Platform shelter 103 Corgi 1:64 Best of British London Bus – Union Jack Thinks a bigger discount will be coming, probably after Feb 5 when the trunk closes
  2. If the motor was the only issue I would think that could have been worked around. I presume the toolings were amongst those that got skipped in a clear out some years ago.
  3. Ah apologies - have only trunked pre-orders so was not aware of the payment arrangement on in stock goods. Still there must be a cost in terms of warehouse space or maybe with the lack of Bachmann products teher was ample space spare.
  4. Thats an advantage of their Trunk service but I wonder what the costs of that are - items tied up sold but not paid for taking up warehouse space. But that is ending Feb 5 so everyone who has ordered exclusives which are still to come will have to pay postage on what is in their trunk and the exclusives separately given the Genesis coaches for instance are now stated as May/June.
  5. All are "temporarily out of stock" - Do Kernow honour the "sale" price if/when thety get more stock?
  6. Example (if you scroll down) http://www.airfixrailways.co.uk/ARSyscat2A.htm
  7. Might just be the backing colour of the nameplate. It's green on the standard model.
  8. After it use at Didcot 224353 returned to industrial use via Resco Railways and was scrapped in 1989 https://www.flickr.com/photos/12a_kingmoor_klickr/50254497437 Plenty of liveries to go at I would have thought, 224353 before being GWised for instance https://www.flickr.com/photos/dave58282/50905496826
  9. But the applied livery is a 1970s preservation one so should be Era 7 (1971-1986) or quite simply they drop the stupid thing and list instead c.1974 or whatever.
  10. Extract proves what a load of rubbish the catalogue is, mid 1947 the cab design changed but above entered service circa 1950s. And no mention of it being modelled as preserved in the 1970s?
  11. There was a period when an order arriving within 2 weeks was doing well although whether that was down to a slow despatch and/or Royal Mail was not clear and at times it seemed like there maybe even customs on the Lancs Yorks border given I was reading of orders bring placed and received in Australia in the meantime. More recently things have improved significantly but nevertheless orders from the likes of Derails and Model Railways Direct are typically quicker to arrive.
  12. And is there actually anything worth the ££ in the catalogue that adds to what is available on line.
  13. Quite likely I would think along with the Barclay, P and Warwell given the sale of the 66 to Accurascale.
  14. "D2959" is now in blue with yellow lining at Telford as VL6 Hector (RH 382824) Struggling to find what the one painted as GW D1 is.

  16. Noticed in Hattons Sale RJ12 cables, which is the sought used on teh cabled handset Multimiasu at £2 as Hornbys R8236 https://www.hattons.co.uk/20674/hornby_r8236_rj12_cable_for_connecting_hornby_digital_controllers_to_booster_unit/stockdetail
  17. Have existed on preserved locos https://www.flickr.com/photos/65480188@N07/18867434693/ and https://www.flickr.com/photos/british-finnish-railways/8864756351/
  18. I had an generic email from them saying they would not be able to supply my pre-order. The only item I have on pre-order is a Genesis coach light strip which is still showing in my pre-orders, and which two weeks prior they confirmed that they were about to place the factory order. Has anyone found their cancelled pre-order is no longer showing? Have trunked a stack of items so suppose its a case of waiting to see what happens first, the light strip added to it or the items in the trunk automatically dispatched by them after Feb 5.
  19. Sorry, wrong link https://www.flickr.com/photos/40011/6489013625/
  20. Preserved loco masquerading. https://www.flickr.com/photos/andy_hoare/26030119625
  21. Problem with Hornbys catalogues in recent years has been the amount of items illustrated which have been cancelled. Its a pity Pat Hammonds books on Triang etc stop at 1996. Bachmann also have the same issue - certainly the cancelled 04 shunters a few years back. The Ramsay Guide fell into a habit of using the catralogues as a release date for example indicates the Bachmann 94xx as being released in 2016.
  22. The negativity is due to the pile of trash called Rocket, a plainly hashed together prototype that somehow got put into production, their general tendancy to use brittle plastic on parts which should be metal, and the lack of any sensible range of spares. Maybe just maybe this one might be of the quality other manufacturers readily achieve.
  23. Oh look another model with nice fragile wires ready to split or maybe the tender is permanently coupled unlike Rocket
  24. And another announcement passes without we will be making all spare parts available for all our models.
  25. I have just received an email saying they cannot fulfil my pre order of a lighting board
