  1. It's happened just now for the first time on my mobile. Had opened a number of pages and shut then down on turn to find the last was the alleged McAfee page
  2. The previous 04 was a tweak of the old Mainline 03 tooling. I discovered when detailing one the body grilles etc were misproportioned or positioned as I sought from photos to drill handrail holes in the right place. They did announce a run of the 04 using the DCC 03 chassis but those were never produced.
  3. If they have a glut of SR 8 planks and 6 wheel brake vans (and similar) the alternative would be to offer specific packs - those three in the £100 pack equate to £58.70, now I have seen the 8 planks on sale around £23.50 but even then getting the brake for £11.70 is a still a bit of bargain. Do wonder how much unwanted is going to appear one ebay shortly. An alternative approach would be to have a selection form where you could mark what you do not want in the mystery pack and dependning how many you tick off whether then you are only limited to the £100 one. If for example I could say no to any Lion, J70, 15xx or tramcar then I might be tempted.
  4. Mine has a Zimo in it which is pretty small. It's not a height issue, it's the internal width and the reason why just getting the body off is such a struggle initially. Must somehow be factory fitted with such force it fits tight and right but thereafter good luck in getting it to fit properly without taking a file to it.
  5. Yes that's why I raised it with them as other 94xx's have had etched plates supplied with them.
  6. All decoders gone now, wonder how many have them in their trunk @£14. Still stacks of R606 and R609 curves
  7. Also Freesat 953. Possibly will be on the BBC website as well.
  8. The Imperium are rebadged Lais decoders cheapened by the removal of the shrink-wrap and hiked in price
  9. The reported issue seems to be on dcc - mine hasn't been run much since decoder fitting it. It was run in on dc. Were the "test mules" laps on dc only? If some users have no problems on dcc then maybe details of what dcc systems are in use where failures have occurred should be sought. Some dcc systems can put out higher than normal voltages. That can be capped by using a different power supply or using a string of bi-directional diodes in one leg of the track connection so is it a case of handling upto x volts is okay but beyond that is where failures occur? Or are the dcc systems in question capable of puttiung out a current beyond that the springs can cope with in the event of a momentailly short before the dcc system trips?
  10. Given the Genesis coaches, P and Barclay all have pre-orders which will be fulfilled we are told then some off spring must be in the pipeline to exist after the closure.
  11. What you need to watch is length okay for your curves on those alternative couplings.
  12. Purchased the preserved 9466 model which I found has no etched number plates with it. Bachmann have confirmed that none are supplied.
  13. The duplicate toolings were made by Dapol as they did not have access to the Kader toolings. They previously had made duplicates of some of the Airfix toolings before they acquired the originals. One exception was the container for the conflat of which the tooling was lost. Dapol had duplicated the conflat and had a new container tooling, both of which they sold to Hornby with Dapol then tooling up a further container to use with the Airfix conflat. 14. Also they use a different section of rail to other code 83 makers which I found joins code 100 in height far better. Tiling point to code 100
  15. The pointwork is slightly flexible so careful laying and pinning is advisable. The track is in Anyrail which is free to use up to a certain number of pieces so you could have a play with that to see how it fits together.
  16. And they should be thankful in all probability that it was delayed long enough not to be a DJM model.
  17. Take a 18, 19 or 20 as appropriate and trim the plastic shank to fit the 363 mount using the supplied tension lock as a guide.
  18. 6 pins unless the relatively rear cabled type are a bit tricky to hard wire - 8 pins are the easiest provided not the direct plug type. Just possibly a need to watch the overall size of the decoder for fitting in the model. Also if the decoder is one that amy misbehave due to the presence of a TV interferecne suppression capacitor on the Sentinels that is unfortunately buried under the motor requiring a almost complete strip down of the model to remove.
  19. Very limited and slightly strange - some plastic deail strips for example are 50% off but others of similar in stock quantity over 30% off. The sheer number of second hand March station canopies is a bit baffling - all over 30% off
  20. Rather Rapido come up with a free replacement than a 3D print as my experience of such is not good with any stress applied to them, even moving contact strips would I can imagine result in the 3D print splitting.
  21. The Hornby 4 pin was so they could use their existing poor 8 pin decoder with a new plug easily added. Completely barking, at least they are starting to use 6 pins etc. On all of my locos with 4 pin sockets I simply stripped out most of the existing wiring and hard wired a decoder which made for a far neater installation.
  22. Or then again maybe not - seems its wired as a cross over cable rather than straight through
  23. Thinking of redoing the light wiring on mine with added white and red LEDs to the respective headcode displays. The white headcode LEDs connected to F0 instead of the cab lights. The cathodes of the red LEDs and cab lights also connected to appropriate F0 feed. The red LEDs anodes connected to the switched output of a relay and the cab light anodes to the switched output of another relay. Then both connected to the appropriate F0 feed. The relays being worked by F1 and F2 with a 1N4001 diode in reverse across the coil connections to suppress the relay and protect the decoder. Would need the 10k resistors on the main PCB shorted out and replacement 10k added to the six LED cathode connections. As such the rear cab light could be switched on if desired and red rear headcode displayed as necessary.
  24. Dapol having livery inaccuracies is all too common so I wouldn't hold out on that
  25. And it transpired my order of Sunday 14th was packed 4.15pm today
