  1. Another update email - 4 day despatch delay.
  2. More info on the issue and link to a power shell script for the fix https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-shares-script-to-update-windows-10-winre-with-bitlocker-fixes/
  3. Scary link - could put people off ordering
  4. Mine was equally big enough - deleting it and recreating it as I noted above caused the error to cease
  5. 34,500 made apparently 1976-1978 according to Pat Hammonds book, "the wrong quality for the time". The one Hornby loco that I thought was even worse was the 1984 Princess Royal 4-6-2; Pat notes the incorrect wheelbase, use of the A1/A3 pony truck, Fowler tank valve gear coupled to Black 5 cylinders and slide bar, plus the isssues with the tenders including those with the tender body off the Duchess being fitted atop the 9F tender chassis.
  6. Pat Hammond doesn't mention which model the tender came from in Vol 3 of The Story of Rovex other than it was an existing 14ft wheelbase chassis. It was notable in being the first steam loco model to have glazed cab windows but those hardly mitigated its short comings. Pat noting the front bogie wheel was 2mm too small and a spoke too many, the driving wheels were not accurately spaced and had three spokes too many, loco body too long, cylinders too deep, no daylight under boiler, front bogies set back too far, tender c 2ft too long, and a chimney unlike the prototype.
  7. It was catalogued for 1974 but did not actually appear until early 1975
  8. There is a red blind at one end on mine and a white at the other end
  9. Okay thanks, I had thought that was a DCC only issue for which there is a workround was found. This in any case has PCB v2 which I thought had corrected it.
  10. Seems faulty.Runs okay but the headcode lights do not change direction on DC. Presume they should and as such there is no point trying to program a decoder. Have tried one and had F0 working directionally the cab lights F1 a headcode light white F2 the other headcode light red
  11. There is way to fix that W10 partition issue.Google the error code and look at MS pages on it. I followed the command prompt instructions which delete the partition in question, resize the main partition (a bit worrying that) and recreate the relevant partition. My mistake I set to the resize the deleted partition which resulted in an error message. Ignored it and recreated the partition without resizing the main and the error went away anyway. Not had any issues with W11. In any event W12 is being talked about coming soon.
  12. Despatch day is not necessarily the order day
  13. Another email - 5 day despatch delays so its improved by a day since Wednesday.
  14. Arrived today (E6012). Had no tracking number but looking it up off the numbered bar code it definitely came from the south west. Oddly timed at Plymouth mail centre some hours before "Sender despatching item". Was very cold to touch when I took it out of its packaging and it still has a chill to it so test run postponed till tomorrow.
  15. The Airfix 14xx pick ups typically failed because the springs could not cope with the current draw of the motor.
  16. Just had an email advising of a 6 day despatch backlog due to the volume of orders. Theres a posting on SREMG on groups.io where there financial statements 2006-2022 have been analysed with the conclusion the writing was on the wall and the decision to close was correct.
  17. As do many others but this is not a coreless motor https://www.dccsupplies.com/shop/class-73-oo-motor-assembly/
  18. In one shot you could quite clearly see the "mainline" ended at slightly more distant buffer stops than the other two sidings
  19. On the other hand Hornby do glazing for the more deluxe models of Tornado and if they were to make that glazing available I would think there would be lot of interested purchases but sadly any Hornby spares even the few they list are as rare as Rocking Horse droppings.
  20. Joined up thinking has never been a Hornby strength for some years, just an assortment of models which have little authenticity between them.
  21. Thats the point I was making; Kernow are counting everything still missing from previous years as the 2024 range, In itself its not wholly extensive as it missing the two extra 88DS's that have cropped up on Hornbys list of April releases.
  22. Your mssing the fact their are "basic offering" is because their is such a huge backlog of models to come out. Have a look at Kernows 2024 Hornby list which extends to 209 models https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/c/765/Hornby-2024-Range
  23. They were there yesterday evening. Obviously the power of RMWeb, mention a bargain and its gone the next moment but 202 of them ?
  24. Um.. despatched today. Thinks is that from Cornwall or somehwere else they are ordering them from.
