  1. Yes there is. It's HET513, RCT fleet number 213, the very last true Crossley to be built; a DD42/8 model.
  2. Whilst I just didn't understand it....... 😋
  3. Thanks all, that's what I like about RMweb; teamwork gets the job done 👍
  4. Thanks, I had forgotten you'd helped me out, though I think I added some items after that, but at least all would not be lost.
  5. Which reminds me...... Having passed my PSV test in a vehicle with the 'steering wheels' well behind the driving position and driven vehicles of the same style almost all the time since; I once got into the cab of a bus (Leyland PD3) where the 'steering wheels' are directly below the driving position. I had to turn right into a tight entrance and positioned the vehicle as I would for one with a front overhang and promptly kerbed the front nearside wheel. Remembered every time since though. 🙂
  6. I suspect it's due to the server migration. I've asked if it can be restored, but if not I'm afraid it might be lost forever as the device I had it backed up to has also bitten the dust.
  7. I don't have that problem, nobody ever phones me
  8. As detailed on another part of this forum, I recently bought a so-say Brand New Heljan Class 15 from an ebay seller. This exhibited similar stuttering in one direction. I was using a feedback controller so couldn't understand why.... Investigations showed that at some point the body had been removed. Brand New? he said..... I removed the body (again) and discovered a DCC chip had been fitted. Brand New? he said..... Heljan don't do DCC fitted, and even if they did, they wouldn't fit a Bachmann decoder would they? Brand New? he said..... Caveat emptor. Though in this case I didn't lose out, but I don't know whether my feedback controller has fried the (bonus) DCC chip. In any case the lcocmotive was certainly not 'Brand New' as offered.
  9. Indeed that was the IAM way too!
  10. Me too! Generally this means there's a safe distance between the both vehicles.
  11. It's all simply a whole pie which can only be divided up in a certain number of ways. Each portion brings with it a greater or lesser onus upon the person/system inolved to do their bit to the best of their ability and accept the responsibility for doing just that.
  12. The easiest answer to all of these problems is to NOT keep introducing systems which take the responsibility to make decisions, based on conditions and risk, away from the driver and thus giving the driver something to blame, or rely upon to compensate for, their skills deficiencies. I do know that what I've said will be seen at best as controversial; maybe by some as provocative but hopefully not inflammatory. I know I've said it before, but I tend to find that drivers who do not extol their own performance are generally those with (at least an aspiration to) higher standards.

  14. Bl@@dy marvellous work - well done Sir!
  15. I can't read so I feel left out.......
  16. I measure the passage of time mostly by this calendar; Pre-TOPS and Post-TOPS
  17. Though I do recall reading somewhere in the dim and distant past that 'dried out' Pressfix transfers can be applied in the Methfix manner, so all may not be lost. In one of Iain Rice's many volumes IIRC.
  18. Well..... I decided to take the offer of a partial refund. I then began investigating the hesitant running which turned out to be due to the fact that the loco was fitted with a DCC decoder which didn't like the feedback controller I was using. Removed the (Bachmann) decoder and all is well. Clearly the loco was not new at all! But I have a DCC fitted Class 15 for £75 which on the whole isn't a bad deal and certainly not madness.
  19. Item received today, and whilst it's in good condition it is certainly not 'new'. I've reported this to the seller who's offered me the option to return or a partial refund of £10. I need to do a bit more investigation into slightly hesitant running in one direction before I decide.....
  20. Something I drank has disagreed with me #feelingdelicate
