  1. My assumption is that we will be getting these in the new year it will be good to have something to look forward to? It will go well with the new Rapido SE&CR 0-6-0 R1? 😉
  2. Still waiting to my subscription mag to turn up in Darkest Sussex I assume the postal strikes are the cause... I will be in WHSmith tomorrow so I hope I'll have it by then otherwise I'll be tempted to buy a copy off the shelf.....
  3. How about a Southern Q class 0-6-0 as found on the Bluebell railway. 1930s built but only ever painted in black lasted until 1960s. Other thoughts are an R1 0-6-0 as per the Wren/Hornby Dublo lots of liveries and lot of options (I am not sure why Hornby haven't done it with there current "retro view" on things. While we are at it a SE&CR/SR L1 4-4-0 as per the Triang/Hornby model. I am seeing lots of duplication on Diesels at the moment would it not be better do do locos that don't currently existing in model form I would have thought it was a no brainer .....
  4. Don't forget if you are driving it normally works out cheaper to park in the railway station car park rather that the NEC carpark and it is closer to the exhibition hall. Not guaranteed but worth checking
  5. Cracking job Linny on these, I have taken all the wheels out and P4ed them i have added some additional weight and covered it with a load and I am hoping with this that I won't need to compensate them. I have also given them a good weathering and in my view they look even better.... Looking forward to the Brake vans now...
  6. APCM cement works at Swanscombe, Kent had seven of these and 2 I think have been preserved....
  7. The photos look really good I don't think there was a poor layout at the show....?
  8. I was asked for payment yesterday on these some hopefully in the next day or so. I saw then at the Uckfield show at the weekend and they looked very good....
  9. I wonder if Rapido will have any at their stand at the Uckfield Exhibition this weekend as it has been said many people are looking forward to seeing these.... all we need now is a SE&CR R1 to go with them..... I can but dream
  10. I'll be there this weekend normally a good show.....
  11. I think we need some more SE&CR wagons myself....or even a loco to pull them? R/R1 0-6-0 anyone.... 😁
  12. Good to see train times going from strength to strength under new management. I have ordered mine. Perhaps it it goes well, how about another number and a run of another 100?
  13. Jol I saw this at Expo em and it look good an i ordered one
  14. There we copies at Expo em over the weekend. Hoping postie brings mine lunchtime.
  15. How about SE&CR livery to go with all the SE&CR wagons they now produce? 😃
  16. We need Rapido to do a decent SE&CR loco to go with all the rolling stock? How about a SE&CR R or R1 0-6-0 like the old Wren Hornby Dublo one but to a modern standard....
  17. I did purchase one with a view to converting it to the SE&CR gunpowder van but the difference were too much the main one I can see it that the SE&CR once had flush doors with the sides on these they are proud. Still nice model just a minor gripe is that I put P4 wheels in it but still had to carve away some of the brake blocks to give clearance for the wheels to turn.... Looksin forward to more SE&CR wagons Martin
  18. As the only livery for SE&CR is grey I assume that this was the only livery used on D1's before 1923? Or will there be latter batch of SE&CR ones.... Martin
  19. Yet again a very good show, good to see all the windows and doors were open to provide ventilation, even if it made the venue a little drafty at times. The gangways looked a little wider than normal too that helped. Out side seating for catering and contactless payments all helped and was a first for Uckfield.... All reasonable steps seemed to have been taken a good show and it looks like the way forward for exhibitions going forward.... Well done
  20. I think Roxey do the round platform canopy?
  21. Looking forward to it. Looks like an excellent selection of layouts.... Martin
