  1. Thanks for that. They are very cheap compared to the individual components needed to build one and they are small! I will be buying some as they will be perfect in conjunction with a home brew circuit I have for constant carriage lighting using 5 v led strips available on a roll from Ama**n sold as 'USB warm white'. I am still dc pwm using an old system - 'ECM Compspeed' which are very few and far between on a certain auction site...
  2. Out of interest do those voltage regulators give the same output regardless of input? Also what is the max mamp/amp output?
  3. love the picture... With the art deco curves I would say print on acetate... if you wanted more physical detail it's a lot of work... keep posting. Looking forward to this build.
  4. I have some really old triang and early Hornby chassis none of which seem to have any problems like this. Are the problems purely related to Chineese/singapore manufacture? If not, I'm going to have to look at some of my older locos... maybe a lot of us need to also look at the weights that we put in coaching and goods stock etc... if too tight it may cause distortion ?
  5. If they both run, you have got a bargain. How much extra detail is up to you...that is the joy of it all. I do believe having listened to all sorts of people on here that the Hornby railroad motors are pretty much a direct switch... if you have any probs...look on here.
  6. If you are running on dcc your lighting should be conntrolable via your chip if you are on dc, and this is only my opinion, you should be using 5 volt led strips WARM WHITE with a suitable electronic connection. I have done this on dc... it does need soldering.. I also have a couple of circuits... you can stop the train the lights dont go off!
  7. Looking at the close up pictures of peco sl 108f, although it is being sold as bullhead, the rail cross section looks flat bottom... has anyone else noticed? The press release also said it would be compatible with existing code 75 track and turnouts... The overall look is a great improvement though so I'll buy some!
  8. This is a little off topic but...there is something that you have done to your track that is great... the third rail is black as is the prototype. Take note London Transport modelers!
  9. That first pic makes it look like the reversing rod would do exactly as it said on the tin....fantastic!
