Class 37, by Accurascale
mallaig1983 replied to Accurascale Fran's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
I ordered 37 027 three years ago. Well I ordered two. The only one suitable for my layout so I’m eagerly awaiting their arrival but craving a photo update. We were told a couple of weeks ago by the end of the week or next week. Still no update. That’s a bit frustrating but hey ho. -

This is all I’m getting from that link. No county downy thing and there’s nothing showing on YouTube. I’ll wait and see if anything is announced. Thanks -

I can’t find that anywhere. Where did you see that? -

Just oozing atmosphere. Wonderful photos as always. Thanks Dave. -
Clogged up with carpet fluff more than likely.

I think we are due photos of the production samples this week but this week is running out. Keen myself for an update. -

Not got my grubby mitts on my Eastfield beauties yet but from what I’m reading on here and hearing the sound on YouTube im pretty darn impressed. Seems another manufacturer has hit the same standards as Sutton LW. Mallaig will be a better place for their arrival. Can’t wait 😛 -
Agree but I think that’s because we are spoiled by Accurascale’s updates. Don’t think we’d give updates a thought if it wasn’t for the Accurascale way of keeping us posted.

The cutting of the first sod. How long do you expect the coach will take to build?

Mallaig and the Road To The Isles
mallaig1983 replied to mallaig1983's topic in Modelling real locations
This model JCB would have been fairly old by 1983 so I decided it needed to be suitably work worn, oily and rusty. Very fiddly but good fun to make. Looking at this photo I now see that I had forgotten to put the hubs in the centre of the wheels.- 858 replies

Mallaig and the Road To The Isles

Gosh, was it really January I last updated this thread? To be fair not a lot has been happening on the layout but I’ve not been completely inactive. I have made a start on detailing the yard area that always looked full of clutter in photos of the era. I have never seen a photo of a JCB here but I have seen a MF digger surrounded by clutter in a photo at Oban and I thought it looked rather good so I have added a digger. A recent find was a photo of a small dumper truck posed with its bucket tilted. The 3D print I bought had it fixed closed so I have thrown a fish box into it. The compressor trailer isn’t the same as the one featured on many photos but it will do. The grounded boat features in some 1985 shots but I had to have it. It is only a start to the detailing here and I need more scrap and a lot more fish boxes but I’ve enjoyed this little project. I have just noticed that the grounded boat is in the 1983 photo that Ian posted above so happy days.- 858 replies

I just assumed you were using DCC concepts powerbase to keep it on the track 😉
-
We did indeed but I haven’t seen any photos or updates since. I was curious to see if anyone had heard anything more.
-
I don’t recall seeing anything recently though. I guess Phil is concentrating on bringing the two classes already announced to market first. Maybe something will be announced as we get closer to the Bachmann launch.
-
I wonder if the earlier style version is still in the pipeline? I’ve not heard or read it mentioned in a year. This is the version I really want, preferably a late 70s Eastfield version. With the Bachmann version creeping closer to production I thought they might be a bit of noise coming from SLW. I just hope Phil hasn’t hard second thoughts. Obviously I realise everything everywhere is delayed but it has gone awfully quiet. Not that much was said in the first place.

Sadly nothing for me in this tranche. Bit gutted but also relieved from a finance angle. When my two arrive next month I’ll have enough to operate the 1983 diagram so anything now is a be ‘be nice to have’. But I was really hoping for a be nice to have. chuffed to bits however for all you guys who are getting what you want/need. 👍 -
I haven’t got any myself (yet) so very minimalist 🤣

Well 50 would be just enough I reckon 😀

Thanks for sharing Ian. A nice wide angle shot and bang on date. I hadn’t seen that one before and as always with any new photo I shall carefully study and see if anything I haven’t seen before crops up. Wonderful photo. -
Yes, a bit of a minefield.

They’re out there but not so common. It’s funny how the 20s were so famous for running to Mallaig but this only happened ten or so times during the 80s. Due to a lack of a working 37 at Fort William.
