  1. Had to watch that several times to take everything in. That unit is proper modelling, fair play. It’s looking great so far. Also nice to get all the other work you’ve been doing into context and to look out for the other stock. Nice work.
  2. Do you mean press ‘Shift’ then ‘2’ then ‘0’ meatloaf?
  3. It’s not all good mate. It’s shown up I have a dodgey point that they refuse to stay on the track for so the civil engineers will have to pay a visit. Also it shows that my Prodigy Advanced won’t play any functions above F11. Fortunately F11 is the flange squeal which is superb. As others have noted there are lots of lovely little noises that play beyond the engine noise as you operate it. Heavy train mode is a roof slate rattler. I’m totally blown away with the quality of them. Sorry I’m gushing 😀
  4. Mine pair arrived yesterday just after I left for work at 13:15. When I got home last night the power had been knocked out by the storm but was fortunately up and running again before bedtime. This morning I collected my box from the neighbour and excitedly took my locos out of the box. After reading the manuals etc the first was tested on the layout. Oh My. What a lovely model and the sound is another level to anything already In the fleet. First loco went on the rolling road for a decent running in and the second loco went on the layout for evaluation. I just couldn’t stop myself grinning like a loon watching and listening to these beauties. Absolutely fantastic stuff Accurascale. These are the first items I have from you and they’re unbelievable.
  5. Rather predictably mine arrived 5 minutes after I led for work after I spent all morning glued to the tracker. I left a note on the front door requesting that I be delivered to the shop a few doors down. Well I had an email saying it was delivered so I’m very excited to open the box tomorrow. There’ll be no running in tonight when I get home but I shall be glued to your video Rob. Thanks for getting something out so quickly.
  6. Just seen that I have an email too. Mine are on their way 😀 Oh I won’t sleep tonight 🤣 Like a child on Christmas Eve haha
  7. Im no fan of the modern scene at 12” to 1’ scale but this is wonderful modelling. Superb photos. That Betty is just perfectly weathered. Wonderful stuff.
  8. Im Sure it’s been mentioned before in this thread but so many pages to trawl through but do they take payment now or just take card details and take payment prior to dispatch? Sorry if om hoing mover old ground.
  9. im just looking at that photo now Andy. 5511 skinhead. It’s in ‘West Highland Extension’ by John McGregor
  10. Hi Neal, always nice to welcome a new visitor and I’m glad you enjoyed my waffle. No I’m not a driver at WHHR. I was Carriage and Wagon foreman for a number of years a few years ago but more recently have been lending a hand to the loco dept as they prepare for the WHR100 gala.
  11. Thanks for sharing Alcanman. This has grabbed my attention somewhat 😀👍
  12. I expect that I am like most modellers in having interests far beyond my own layout. By my RMweb name you’ll guess what my layout is based on but I just wanted to say how much I enjoy following your project. Time, space and money restrict most of us to just the one layout so it’s wonderful to be able to follow other folks projects and really enjoy the updates. I have a big interest in GWR coaches (and them there Southern ones from the south) and often think well I may not have a GWR/WR layout but one day I’m sure some kits will hit the workbench. Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your updates and admire your skills and enthusiasm. This thread even inspired me to visit Henley last week while taking a holiday in Oxford (Mum provided the B&B). I hadn’t been there since 1988! Its a really enjoyable thread and I’m learning so much about GWR stock and kit building. Andy
  13. Has anyone had an email yet? Seems Dave of Dean Park has but his feed has an affiliate link. Despite ordering 3 years and 3 months ago and being paid up a long time ago and these models being announced as having arrived almost two weeks ago I feel that although being exceptionally patient and understanding that for some reason they are not being sent out. Maybe my patience has hit summit fever but on seeing the Chaldrons have arrived since and been despatched I’m genuinely flustered. Please Accurascale when can us mere mortals finally get our grubby mitts on them?? What is the delay please other than volume? It’s been a long long wait but patience is now wearing a tad thin when celebrity YouTubers are bragging there’s are on the way. I only gripe as i ordered mine pretty much the day of release. Apologies for being an git but this has been a looooong and patient journey and you announced them in stock nearly a fortnight ago.
  14. we must have been at the same show in Wigan Ian. I spoke to Gary at length about his layout. A huge inspiration for my own. Warren has made a wonderful start. I’m loving that Mallaig extension classic building. I’m genuinely excited by this build.
  15. Oo I’m very much liking the look of this. Very much indeed. Keep us posted 😀👍
  16. I was volunteering this weekend so I didn’t get the chance for any modelling. I’ve been in the attic this morning and found that two sections of the recent extension have suffered the effects of heat in the attic. My own fault as I can’t have left expansion gaps between the sections of flexi. The Mallaig section is absolutely fine and even in last summer’s extreme heat has given me no issues. I always open the velux windows as soon as the heat starts to build up. I have unpinned the extension and allowed for a larger gap, pinned back down and tested and all is good again.
  17. Happy 3rd June 1983 40th anniversary day to all you all. On this day in history 20148 covered for a lack of a 37 on the Fort William to Mallaig mixed train. It was not the only time this had happened before or since but it did happen once in 1983 and it was somewhat exciting to a 13 year old me when the photos were published in one of the magazines of the time. It would have been rather rude not to have a re enactment to mark the occasion.
  18. I really enjoy following this thread and spending time losing myself in the photos. I saw the layout at Warley a few years back and over the two days I kept returning. It’s one of my favourite layouts and one of those I’m just happy to stand and watch the whole sequence. Hopefully will catch it again one day. The 117 looks great but my weakness at Warley was the 3 car Thumper. That must have been 5 or 6 years ago now?
  19. And just to celebrate its delivery I did indulge in a little moment of rule1 😀
  20. This photo of Carr 23/35 was taken at Beddgelert last July.
  21. Swapped West Highland for Welsh Highland today. As a long time member and volunteer at the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway this is where I do my 1:1 modelling. The original 590 is what first grabbed my attention in a photograph back in 1982 and started a life long love affair with the WHR around the same time my other love affair with the West Highland began. Something rather special about railways through the mountains whatever the gauge. This is a sister of 590 that has been restored to represent the original and entered traffic yesterday after 20 years of overhaul and a lot of money. Also included is a photo of the interior of coach 23(35) which was a 4 year labour of love for myself and my small team a few years ago. Ok this is somewhat off topic for my thread but it’s important to me and I just wanted to share. Back on modelling Mallaig tomorrow!!
