  1. Moelfair state a an end of August release. Not to far now.... The Star Class will be followed by the ATW Cl. 67, Cl. 91 Flying Scotsman etc...
  2. Fully agree with you Paddy. Manufacturers haven't been afraid to tell us that and they won't lie for such a thing. It is a fact and even if a 1000 people want it that wouldn't make up the cost of production.
  3. Manufacturers themselves have stated that there is no demand for electrics. The few reasons stated are no demand in the first place, lack of accessories accompanying them (catenary and all that), slow selling rate etc. I've had Hornby tell me this, I think elsewhere on this forum DapolDave has said this about the Dapol Class 92, BernardTPM has also clearly stated that a certain kit he produced took years to sell out just 100 of them.
  4. Even I would like to know why electrics don't sell well. They have been around from the 80s. I always expected a large audience for them. I would surely like some OO scale ones from Hornby and N scale ones from Dapol. I do prefer the 86s, 87s, 90s and 92s
  5. I wish a few more RES and Railfreight (grey ones with the blue roofs) Class 86's were released. It's a pity electrics don't sell well....
  6. Will this topic be updated now that DapolDave is NotDapolDave?? This was a nice topic to follow.... Hope we can still get updates though.
  7. Be it a W1 or P2. There is still quite a big difference for any tooling to be ''MODIFIED''. We are in general talking about an A4. not specificly to a Hornby one. I did that for comparison..... Yes a stunning kit (AGREED!!!) Awesome one...
  8. How?? Just because the nose and cab are very similar doesn't mean Hornby will do that. The rest of the model is completely different. Using that will require heavy modification of the tooling, why not just make a new tool for the streamlined one...
  9. Wishing there was a re-tooled Class 87 and Class 90 from Hornby (not Bachman)

I too wish for the same thing I love electrics I grew up with them I cant understand why they are largely forgotten about these days. A swallow 90 would get my cash today.

It surely will be a loong wait.

      @robhst

I feel manufacturers have brought this upon themselves due to many inaccuracies and also lack of detail and complementing items like catenary etc. Now there is no demand for it. Most modern locos were also present in the 90s so people tend to model that era and leave out the present (few are into it though)

  11. Latest pre-production shot of the Hornby LNER P2 from facebook.
  12. I like it.... Though the model could do with a laserglaze kit. I will go for an NCB version
  13. By ''you'll'' I meant Dapol as a firm not necessarily you Dave.
  14. But there have been post of your CAD models on facebook. Atleast recently. The Class 50 and 33 if my memory is good.
  15. Will look forward to it. I see you'll post the same now on facebook as well, so will check from time to time.
  16. Thanks Dave... I am more of a collector but still plan on making a layout to run the trains from time to time
  17. anymore news on the Class 50 Dave?
  18. No more news on this topic?? Its been almost a month now. I hope this hasn't gone off....
  19. Totally agree with you... If they want metal buffers those are easily available. There are a host of spares available these days.
  20. It was indeed the first off the mould.
  21. FACT IS.....Those type of people should opt for kits then.... They can add whatever they want and can only blame themselves if they don't like it. Unless they don't like the kit and what it is made off No point in anyone disliking this because it's true.....! Only the smart ones will know what I'm saying is correct.
  22. Looking at images the handrails look very delicate but are not moulded for sure. So that is nice
  23. People complained about the metal buffers also...very hard to satisfy people I must say!!!
