Tyres... In the pre-Pirelli era tyres lasted to the end of the race - fastest laps were usually recorded very close to the end of the race when the weight of the fuel was lowest.

Quote.... "I was quite pleased with my painting but painting but unfortunately photography has not been particularly complimentary." Not much more to say really...

Long-lap penalty in MotoGP, WSB and BSB. A marked out lane around the outside of a corner which adds a couple of seconds to the lap. A bit like the Power Boost bit in Scalextric FE races.

This happens at "real" auctions - Commission bids are left with the auctioneer. Too much time spent watching Bargain Hunt... Sigh!

From the same seller... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Large-N-Gauge-Layout-DCC-Or-DC-11-Feet-x-4-Feet-Price-Reduced/114730204228?hash=item1ab673fc44:g:vhEAAOSw55dgSKgP Wouldn't it be better if the tracks lined up?

Jasper Fforde - The Eyre Affair - set in 1985 with the Crimean War still going on... More science fantasy than what if. Similar in genre to Robert Rankin's Brentford books but set in Reading.

Touch of Bargain Hunt here... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-31-337-04-DIESEL-SHUNTER-D2280-BR-GREEN-SCALE-1-76/265007775672?_trkparms=aid%3D555023%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIMRVI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20210125104017%26meid%3Df64b87a1370c403cb876f42899c9807f%26pid%3D100752%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D24%26mehot%3Dpf%26sd%3D313390656390%26itm%3D265007775672%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv5hPointwiseWebNoToraCoCoViewsNoHighIdfOrRoundRobinBlenderWithPromotedViewItems%26brand%3DBachmann&_trksid=p2047675.c100752.m1982 I got mine for 20 notes from a toy fair!

My first thought was Barrowmore Model Railway Group.. http://www.barrowmoremrg.co.uk/Prototype.html http://www.barrowmoremrg.co.uk/BRBDocuments/CS/Book_No_210_EK_web.pdf ...but they are very basic and take some finding! -
They've even used the Petronas green!!

I thought it was very strange that the podium ceremony went ahead as if nothing had happened. Sam Bird was on the radio behind the safety car and said something like "There is a lot of debris on the track and cars off at turn ?20", so he knew something big at happened but he must have known the drivers were OK or he wouldn't have celebrated as much.
