  1. Hi again, Sorry for the delay in responding; I've been away for a few days, and had no reliable internet access. Thanks for all the further suggestions. Regards, Alex.
  2. Driving away from home - It's Immaterial
  3. Hi everyone, The only Model shop I can think of that opens on a Sunday is Harburn Hobbies, but only on the run up to Christmas and New Year; I'm sure Wonderland have done something similar in the past. Trading laws are different in Scotland so being closed may be for family and leisure time as others have suggested. Regards, Alex.
  4. Hi, I haven't sprayed a loco black in years, however I found Games Workshop Chaos Black to be great; it acts as an undercoat and topcoat in one. See here for a recent example from another thread, where someone else has used it: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/136923-cwm-prysor-bala-blaenau-ffestiniog-branch/?p=3301720 (post 174 onward). Regards, Alex.
  5. I once had a summer job in a local public library. One of the university students, on a summer placement, managed to 'lose' a huge chunk of the audio cd section. At a glance we could see that the racks were fairly full, yet we would often fail to find things. One day, by chance, we solved the mystery when we found The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, etc all filed under ...... 'T'!
  6. Forever and ever - Demis roussos (aka - the Singing Kaftan)
  7. Where's the "don't give up the day job" button when you need it?
  8. Song of the south - Big Country
  9. Hi again, Thanks for those suggestions and links; both very helpful. I had looked on the LNWRS site but hadn't noticed that particular page (need to go to Specsavers!). Thanks again. Regards, Alex.
  10. Hi everyone, In a conversation in a model shop we got talking about the Bachmann Coal Tank, and the subject arose of renumbering the LNW one. I've had a look online but couldn't find a manufacturer - any ideas? More about curiousity than need. Thanks and regards, Alex.
  11. Is this the world we created - Queen
  12. Hi, The fifties were before my time (I was raised in the late-sixties and seventies) but these three things applied to us too. Regards, Alex.
  13. Go your own way - Fleetwood Mac
  14. Is the turtle a celestial being or the one that's an instrument of torture?
  15. Hi again, Interesting that in that photo can be clearly seen a class 20 that seems to still be in plain green; I thought they would all have had yellow panels by then. I've enlarged the image to see if it's just due to dirt but to my eyes it seems not. Regards, Alex.
  16. Hi, Great piece of work, especially the sense of a significant drop to the far side of it. If that bridge was here in Edinburgh, someone would be parked on it by now. Regards, Alex.
  17. Next we'll be seeing 08s in passenger service at Springburn! (Okay, so it was a Saturday afternoon around 1982, and an Eastfield 08 was recovering a failed 3-car 101 on the Springburn-Cumbernauld shuttle. A replacement unit meant that the down train left only ten minutes late! Oh how I wish I had owned a camera back then.)
  18. Hi, This side of DCC (i.e. a DIY approach) but I also wonder if the title 'DCC++" is also a bit of an insider joke? I did some IT study back in the days when the 'cool' language to use was C++. Just a thought. Regards, Alex.
