  1. Sunday morning coming down - Johnny Cash
  2. Hi, Some fantasy wargames figures are a notional 1:56 (28mm), though they stand a bit too big for that (32+mm), so there may be some useful bits'n'pieces there (especially if you want a slightly short looking Rincewind). Regards, Alex.
  3. Tracks of my tears - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles (& Big Country!)
  4. Hi Simon, This is a brilliant idea, the options for modelling being wide and varied. Any thoughts on buildings that look like multistorey salt shakers; an exploding Alchemists Guild, etc? Hope these new-fangled big kettle thingeys don't mean that Binky will be made redundant. Looking forward to watching this one. Regards, Alex.
  5. Happy talk - Captain Sensible
  6. The Magician's Birthday - Uriah Heep
  7. Love me for a reason - Boyzone (sorry about that, but I couldn't resist!)
  8. You stole the sun from my heart - Manic Street Preachers
  9. Hi again, Thanks for those additional references. Last weekend I managed to pick up the relevant edition of 'Illustrated History .....' and 'Locomotives Illustrated'. I'll keep a look out for the other two books too. Thanks and regards, Alex.
  10. Hi again, Continuing to be impressed and inspired by this. Apologies if you have already said this elsewhere on the thread, but how big is the scenic section? The openness and barrenness of the scenery, couple with the simple plan make it look big. Thanks and regards, Alex.
  11. Safety dance - Men without hats
  12. Sweet surrender - Wet, Wet, Wet
  13. Hi everyone, I don't usually buy Model Rail but did this time round as I thought it was such a good edition. It was great to see that Hornby/Triang old style Mk1s are still not safe from the cut'n'shut! Also surprised by the title of the Irish themed layout - some of my Irish friends were surprised this made it to print, too! Again, a great mag. Regards, Alex.
  14. Friends in low places - Garth Brooks
  15. Down in the park - Gary Numan
  16. Midnight at the lost and found - Meatloaf
  17. Hi again folks, Thanks for those suggestions. Only some of it I understood, but as I am new to programming CVs, etc, then that it not a bad thing, as it points me towards something else to learn about. As for the Hornby system, it's Railmaster + e-Link. I'll pass the information on, and see what happens. Regards, Alex.
  18. Hi everyone, A friend has asked me if I can put this question up: Recently I fitted a harness and DCC23 to both a Lima Sprinter and a Bachmann 170. After running them for a while on his test-track they both performed well; this was controlled using a 'Prodigy Elite' system (DCC04). Yesterday, my friend tried to change the addresses from the default setting of 3; this was done using Railmaster. On returning to operation with the DCC04 he found neither unit would respond. Before using some of the Gaugmaster programming facilities to over-ride the settings on the chip (i.e. changing the address, where it is unknown, using the programming track) I was requested to ask if anyone knew if there was a compatibility issue, or if something had simply gone wrong? Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, Alex.
  19. Children of the grave - Black Sabbath
  20. If I ever tell that on a Sunday morning then you (and the congregation) will know that I have had enough!
  21. Thirteen Valleys - Big Country
  22. Hi again, Thanks for posting this. Any thoughts on the van conversion that the 3F is coupled to? Regards, Alex.
  23. Hi again, The capacitor was the first thing to go. Strange, to me, was that when the speed step was changed from 28 to 128 it calmed down a little. Regards, Alex.
