  1. In the long run, it is us that get the bill. It matters not which route it takes to get there, it still comes from our pockets. It is also probably cheaper to shore up repair an existing barrier, than have to tackle the problem nearer the base of the cliff slope. J
  2. You should have spent that extra penny or two and got a professional firm to do that corrugated roof - instead of the fly by night lot, you clearly employed there mate. You know what they say - "For a ha'pence of Tar ..... GluG!" ...... and ... you cain't blame no-one but yourself, for being so miserly! J
  3. I believe the problem with concrete is allowing it to dry slowly enough for it not to form faults. I have had several concrete bases made and they all got covered in wet sacks to slow the drying rate. Not sure if that applies to bigger rafts, but it seems logical. J
  4. Nice day for the cliffs too, unlike the last couple of weeks. Enjoy. J
  5. I thought that they bent those pile ends outwards over the horizontal rebar. J
  6. I expect he is explaining in great detail too .................. .................................................... why so much Flocking takes place here!!!!!! .......... J
  7. Well!!!!!!!! ..................... ............ disgracefull? ........................ I never saw a more obvious sixtist comment anywhere and what is more a clear blind eye clearly being taken by the polis!! This will definitely be reported to the government political in-correctness department!!! ............... and the government opposition political in-confussion department!!! ........... just as soon as we have ....... one of either!!! J
  8. That will be where they are trying to copy dt's method for forming the cliffs ........... ................... or maybe part of a flexible expansion joint. .................. or maybe where they are starting packing it in a box to send it to the EU, as their share of the payment. J
  9. Me, me, me too!! :sungum: 314 seems to have an all glass door. Is that part of upgrades by any chance? J
  10. Swapped for ............ ......... an ageing 40, no doubt!! :nono: J
  11. Looking forward to the concrete on the bridge - not easy. I very much like the bold flashes of the red flowering shrubs on the cliff too. The different greens and the flowers did have me rather uncertain of position whether it might be the real cliffs, in a couple of the pictures. Looking forward to more. J
  12. The bridge is looking very good too ..... :sungum: J
  13. Strangely, it is also ........ Co-incidentally[?] ................................... just happens to be behind a very nice 37!! ....... :jester: J
  14. Is there ant cement with the sand, in those bags. It used to be a traditional way to build walls / reinforcement where water was a problem. J
  15. You share the tpo spot of sausage cutting with ... ... the local Butcher, who sat on the Bacon Slicer ....... and got a little behind in his Orders. :jester: J That one is just sooo old - but it still makes me smile. How sad is that??
  16. How very appropriate to ......... ....................................................................... This really is one of my better worst ones ................ ............................................................................................................................................................................ "Tart" the loco up so beautifully like that ...... :sungum: J Hat and coat donned - heading for the village Stocks ... :tomato:
  17. It will be interesting to see if those black pipes are just placed in-between the walls of the water feature as a conduit, or if they will get surrounded by cement between the tubes and the walls. J
  18. Just bought the new version 6 of AnyRail, planner. It has a few additions to the original, like tunnels, bridges and embankments. There are a couple of 3D rotational views too. I have a small round-and-round planned, so it can be easily packed away, so I have some pictures of that, as it isn't as complicated as some. I have some samples just run off from existing plans. The first picture is a larger plan with a climb, embankment and a bridge. The second shows a different texture to the grass and you might just make out a tunnel far right. It also has options for track looks and stuff like ballast choices too. 19. It looks as if these models are in the manufature stage, according to the progress chart, on DJ website. That is definitely encouraging. :sungum: Julian
  20. Caption 1 What do you mean, those metal hoops are for the raft? ........................ They are nothing to do with it, they are just for my new giant Croquet set at home. J
  21. If you won't let me play with the concrete-spreader hose ..... .................. I'm going home to tell my Mummy, of you! J
  22. Humm. Not quite sure .......... avons-nous mis le chat parmi les pigeons! ..... or Haben wir einen guten Griff auf den Schwanz des Tiger!! ..... J
  23. Quick ....... ........... pick it off and put it on the cliff face .... :jester:
  24. It was the machine with the pneumatic drill bit on it's jib, in the middle of the large new raft.. J
  25. $th picture down ....... no sooner have they laid the concrete rafr, then they dig it up again. :scratchhead: [splinter time!!] J
