  1. Can't be Digital - there are clearly more than two wires here:
  2. Andy Y doesn't want you to miss out on the Virtual Show this weekend and has charmed BT into fixing your Interweb. Hold on, how are you communicating with this forum if you don't have some form of interweb connection even if it is in a wireless form using one of those things once known as a mobile phone.
  3. One has to hope that the disappearance of EOI for a King on KR Models is a sign that perhaps there was some sort of tooling started and perhaps there could be an EFEing King one day too.
  4. Hope there are no gaps in the roof to let any of that light out, people will think he's running a farm up there.
  5. And that market for accurate LSWR pattern locos and coaches must be massive, up there with accurate S&DJR coaches. You can do them after you've done a range of Toplights to suit all the variations so far identified in any polls.
  6. it's interesting as enthusiasts we have sentimentality about objects that the actual owners of (when in service) had no sentiments for. They would scrap them when done with, rebuild them when they could, swap parts and dump them unceremoniously. Even today, class 73s were purchased out of preservation for use back on the national network and class 56s are being turned into Anglo-American frankensteins.
  7. Just the handle for the shovel, as it had been replaced a couple of years earlier when the first replacement snapped.
  8. Or maybe it's an OO rat who strayed into the image
  9. I tried to watch it the other night but for some reason it kept causing my speaker bar to fail and when on TV sound it crashed - how odd!!
  10. I rather think it is like Hornby selling out of anniversary Duchesses and people scrabbling to find any - to the manufacturer having no stock left is win/win - they've made their money and now have lots of space for something else to sell.
  11. Watched this tonight, now I know not to trust social media and as such watching this film only confirmed that - which means I am being manipulated to watch a programme from an echo chamber at Netflix rather than the Facebook one, but this is a thought provoking glimpse into how AI is now running (or is that ruining) our culture, society and fabric of democracy. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11464826/ https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/sep/19/the-social-dilemma-a-wake-up-call-for-a-world-drunk-on-dopamine
  12. Where are you, this is not what I experienced in an Aldi not far from a Costco in Manchester that appeared to have queues a couple of days back. I went into Aldi today, no signs about limited buying except on paracetomel (and that has other reasons for being restricted). Full cabinets of frozen stuff, lots of tinned goods, lots of fresh meat and veg. The only odd thing I saw was a chap buying 24 packs of flushable wet wipes and he just reminded me I needed a couple and when I got to the aisle there were at least 4 boxes (24 packs per box) of the stuff so no shortage there either. I do wonder if the panic buying is coming from Tier 1 places not used to restrictions and thinking the world is going to cave in again.
  13. My 14xx was sweet then it became less so, but maybe I wasn't running it enough, my Prairies were dogs until I was able to run them in properly and then they were very sweet. My Ivatt is ok and it was good back out of the box in March after a few years storage.
  14. Development / Tooling is only part of the cost of a model - you still have production costs - raw materials, labour, power and alternative products (i.e. what else could you produce in the production slot in place of this model that would make more money) - these all have a bearing on price.
  15. That DJM, for all his faults actually gifted us two toolings that have now come to market in a more traditional manner.
  16. No loo roll 24 packs in Iceland today, apparently they sell other stuff too and they had these freezers full of all sort of stuff - I was only looking for a single pack of loo rolls so I passed straight through. In panic buying mode I did go to B&Q to get a 1200mm plank, a 1200mm stick and some M6 bolts and accessories. Suddenly realised my plans to reconstruct my baseboards from a 4 x 4 loop back into and 8 x 5 x 4 end to end would backfire if I couldn't get to B&Q and I am not about to resort to click and collect for a wonky piece of wood. Now the question is what gauge do I go - no need to panic I have options.
  17. According to Bachmann's site - yes https://www.Bachmann.co.uk/category/model-railway/branchline/steam-locomotives
  18. Indeed, but for an old timer there is only the 47/3 for an MGR and it must be on jointed track - none of that continuous welded stuff for me.
  19. These are just new announcements into the range, for the 94xx there are also DC models at £130
  20. You got a signed certificate - that makes it 'limited' in the sense you are talking about. Given the times we are in and the time it takes to develop a model as C&M have stated altering the specification even slightly means it has to go through a development program which adds cost and delays delivery - so I am fully behind their decision to re-run the same set and I imagine there won't be a certificate this time. These models came out so long ago that I managed to miss the B/G versions first time around, then bought some ordinary B/G Mk3s and sold them again as I changed scale and wouldn't be buying a 47/7 or DBSO. In fact I'd still be waiting on the DBSO wouldn't I? So with the imminent release of the DBSO why shouldn't people have coaches to go behind them.
