  1. What year did these start running to the north west any pictures.
  2. I think five wagons is enough plus a BG early period 64 - 65 will have to compromise on container length.
  3. Was thinking of the early mid 60s period what would typically make up a train.
  4. Looking to purchase early 50s/60s with diamond and plate bogies.
  5. Latest Hornby offering, needed the original plastic ones as fitted on the model must be undamaged, please pm me.
  6. Any one have the original plastic name plates of city of Birmingham they don't want please pm me.
  7. All early pristine versions up to 70s sold out now, Hattons have surely underestimated the quantities produced why are they not on pre order, will have to wait till after the weathered ones appear.
  8. Totally agree have had to return two models of City of Birmingham both with paint defects and missing parts.
  9. Back to the subject of City of Birmingham, any one had any issues with this batch.
  10. Any chance they will do more of the 60s battleship grey ones which have sold out, could not get any information from Hattons.
  11. Have some CLC Tickets in white and red without a date you can not tell when these were issued as they were used by BR as well, or would they be always dated in BR LMR days.
  12. Thanks Phil but my layout is early 60s.
  13. Oxfords 1/87 50/ 60s American cars, how do these compare in size to the 1/76 scale.
  14. Any pictures of early pre 66 containers showing different features, what are the spigot points.
  15. That must have been a rare sight on the roads, I did the same thing with the Base toys Cortina mk1 as I find them slightly over scale, having the full range of Oxford zephyrs I was just disappointed with there first issue, any one else tried to correct the body to screen issues on there model.
  16. These appear retooled after the first issue, having recently purchased the very first issue in pale green, it has some very noticeable flaws, lip in the roof over the front windscreen and rear screen, seam on n/s/f wing and above n/s windows, might try to file down the lips on the roof this being the most noticeable.
  17. So for the first Freightliner flats introduced circa 64-65 these are not suitable, what is the scale difference of thirty foot from the twenty seven foot containers.
  18. Still no sign of BR Maroon Lined Porthole Coaches.
  19. Still no sign of ex LMS Suburban Coaches in Br Maroon Lined Livery.
  20. I do hope Bachmann will re tool the rebuilt Scot/Patriot bodies now they have the chassis for these as originally intended in the near future.
  21. If not mentioned before when first introduced did they consist of just 3 x 20ft containers not as portrayed by Bachmann. 3 x 20 outers 2 x 30 inners.
  22. I would not say inexpensive at todays retail prices and more paid for my model, I did not see these issues with the previous models, may be they will improve with the next lot or may be not, it is a gamble I think Hornby need to address these problems, I thought they made a scan of this model though dimension wise it looks the same as the earlier one.
  23. Just had a closer look and body is distorted nothing lines up looking down the top of the boiler, piece above buffer beam twisted hence the buffer beam out of line and pointing upwards, not seen this on the previous models an issue with quality control as previously mentioned, a lot of money spent and there is no replacements.
  24. What is the difference in diameter between the two.
