  1. Agree above image E & GR No 88 acquired NBR 1865 and allocated No 312 & later rebuilt as inspection saloon known as "The Cab" No 1079 if my memory hasn't failed me
  2. Thanks for that. Aware had moved there, with coach & possibly Great Marquis and as I’m staying up the road rather fancied seeing her. Rather explains why web search drew a blank.
  3. Unless missing a trick can’t find details on-line regarding Balbuthie Visitor Centre. Hoped to visit of old times sake as saw her many times including at Crail en-route to Lochty Guessing closed for winter??
  4. Nothing much on a quick squint at Journal 6 part article on Waverley. Usual known images of Scotland Street. Your thoughts are pretty much correct.
  5. I’ll look for you. The journal did look at early days of Waverley, early coaches & guess something there.
  6. Took a circuitous route to work today. Great Coates on outskirts of Grimsby. Joined by a n other for the RHTT
  7. It was quite a sight as my Grandmothers house was on Wellesley Road, opposite the Randolph Wemyss Hospital. Remember the WPR locomotives and even recall the first rig that left the yard had quite a send off as I was part of crowd on the day.
  8. Nice picture (dont recall seeing it before) Quick search in NBRSG isnt helpful I'm afraid. One really early (probably earliest) image is dreadful & thus pretty useless. Old newspaper archives for engraving, have newspaper engraving of the train ferry at Granton in my stash.
  9. Some others about. I believe 150 is routed via Brigg & Kirton Lindsay service & only daily return passenger service on this line.
  10. On way to the meeting, managed to see a few more. 70 was running very late.
  11. On way back from Immingham, took back road via Roxton Siding & only managed quick grab shot. Appeared to being travelling much slower compared to other time I saw
  12. One of the “lost in crash” Barnetby 8/8/90 46:973 with Lab 23 stock
  13. Last & probably most curious is this. Same day but two 37’s I usually associated with the iron ore circuit 37:381 & 37:377
  14. Can narrow this next lot down quite well for me. Still able to access Brocklesby Junction platform. All taken 10/12/91 & likely lunchtime between jobs. 37:358 47:303 20:127 & 20:145 47:481 Sunstar
  15. Will try and re-post that lost in “crash” plus any others that may have escaped attention. Elsham Signal Box (RIP) 12/12/90 20:046 & 20:176 Grimsby Docks 21/8/91
  16. Away from my usual haunts Healing (pretty minimalist) today around 10:30 to 11:00
  17. Usual pair (I think under all the gunk/crud) today Taken at Healing (not my usual haunt) and went through at speed still spraying. Fortunately platform was empty
  18. Well out of my area. Holiday in Dawlish narrows it down geographically. I/D appreciated, one opinion has Bristol & Exeter but weren’t they broad gauge??
  19. When I visited Tioxide don’t ever recall black patches. Suspect above is painted to mimic a BR Iron Ore Tippler??
  20. Sorry no close ups. The under frame of a modified ex SNCF version was at LWR. I’ll see what I have from my guided tour in 1989 but no promises
  21. Had a few days away in the Emerald Aisle In recompense for such a major “faux pas” I add a random image stated to be Humberstone 11/89 but have my doubts
  22. Buxton 3/89 I believe this is actually NER 41 & recently out of an extensive restoration at Aln Valley Railway
  23. A number of images of the above service on the Edinburgh Suburban line are on Railscot now Railbrit I believe.
