  1. ...and you learn to use every inch. I'm creating a little dock scene right now, will be finished in one or two weeks. The good thing about british railways is (or was) how short the old freight wagons were. Not much space needed for a little shunting layout. "and i think now i would struggle to go back to any think larger" Oh yeah, that's true! I know it!
  2. Hi Looks pretty cool, I like those little layouts. You can do a lot with scrap and leftover parts, minimal costs - maximal fun! Cheers Simon
  3. I just want a Arriva 158... pleeeeaaaaaaaazzzzzzeeeeeeee ...and some Ironclad stock for my Southern steamers... or Balloon Coaches...
  4. My two Dynamis handsets are almost full, so about 80 or so... Something like 40 British diesels, the rest is Southern (UK) steamers, US-diesels and some German/Austria/Swiss electrics and diesels... more to come!
  5. Oh those Yankees... that's the prize if you just know how to produce weapons, Coca-Cola and fast (gen-)food... They should do it like PIKO. PIKO produces in China as well, BUT they own the factory!!! That's why they always are on time, PIKO already released the BR 118 and the wonderful blue/beige BR 111, earlier than expected! Already wondering when Walthers will bring out their new E8's... 2019, 2020... or 2054?
  6. Nothing there for me, still hoping for the Mk3 in Chiltern (and Arriva). But like Hattons said: Oxford Rail have made their first of three announcements for 2018. So there is still hope!
  7. I don't think that Hornby will do that, unfortunately LS Models made this cars in 1:87... c'mon, no one here in Europe knows this train, but it is well known in the (southern) UK. A passed chance...
  8. Can't wait to get my Ae 4/7 and BR 111 in blue/beige from Piko... and they bring out the BR 118! This is going to be a fantastic year!
  9. My E7's look pretty good, but the IC E8 and the B-unit are not from that period. That's an old Life Like product. And I have a lot of shorts with that beast. The color is not matching the E7's and the Walthers coaches, so I am very happy for "the perfect one". And my other units are from Broadway, bad runners and a lot of details missing. Definitely will buy one IC and one or two NYC locos, and hoping for correct Penn Central and Amtrak versions, without side windows and deskirted tanks.
  10. Oh my goooooooooooooooooood!!!! Walthers will release a new batch of E8!!!!! - Illinois Central 50 - 60's - NYC 1960's (Cigar Band) - Southern 1970's (Grey/Green) How cool is that?!?!?!?! Time to sell my bad running and not up to date looking Life Like and Broadway E's... Here is the complete News PDF http://aws.walthers.com/Jan2018Flyer_Consumer.pdf
  11. I ordered a Heisler in On30 from Bachmann for my father, this one has already fitted speakers as well. Haven't seen it yet but probably next week. Nice idea! Simon
  12. Mmmmmh... Lord Nelson and (my personal highlight) the Maunsell Dining Car! Thank you Hornby!!! Simon
  13. Dammit... too much informations! ;-) I'm still learning 'bout the Southern stuff, yes I know he was from Ireland, but for me just everything south of London!
  14. Ok, keep it short... everything from Drummond and Maunsell that isn't released yet!
  15. Fun fact: LS Models made the French sleepers (model F)!!! But of course in 1:87... here they are: http://gibitrains.pagesperso-orange.fr/train/voiture-lits_f-lsmodels.htm
  16. I want Ironclad stock! And a LSWR Adams T3 or T6!
  17. I had similar problems with a Proto E7 (with QSI Decoders) and an Broadway Limited E8 (with Tsunami). Sound and lights yes, but nothing moved... and yes, the QSI has this F6 Thing, but that was not the solution... I let my father made dummies out of them (with sound, of course). But I don't think that you want your beast as a dummy... Good luck Simon
  18. Hmmm.... a long wait. Even longer for me who is hoping (and waiting) for Chiltern Mk3's... But that doesn't matter me too much. As a Southern Railway / British Rail (70ies up) / Deutsche Bundesbahn / Penn Central - Illinois Central - New Haven - Early Amtrak modeller there sure will be some interesting releases the next month's/years. Cheerio dudes! Simon
  19. Ahhhh, beautiful... I was 2 times there, but looks like there are some new locos around. The CC40100 was standing outside in the back where the turntable is, waiting for some "refreshment"... now she looks awesome again... and the CC6500... and CC7100... mmmmmmmmmmmmhhhhh.... I think I have to go again next year! *Macho Man Mode on* UUUUUH YEAAAAHHHH, DIG IT!
  20. I like the new Transpennine design, hope they will add some yellow on the front... Thanks for the pix! Simon
  21. Yeah, the Hoosac Valley is a very nice layout. It was in the Model Railroader Magazin some month ago. Another BIG eyecatcher is the Franklin & South Manchester. Lot of good stuff around!
  22. A legend! For me the best layout ever, love the late winter/early spring look... absolutely stunning! Simon
  23. @Interlaken West back in 1988... Ahhhhh, Dave, wonderful! I was there as well and was standing for hours watching trains between Bern and Thun. Some very interesting compositions that time with German, Austrian and even French (!!!) electrics running regular trains. This was the BLS 75 year jubilee, great stuff! Greez Simon
  24. An interesting railway, Halling made one of the Trams that run to the Harbor: http://www.halling.at/themes/kategorie/detail.php?artikelid=499 Looking forward to see more! Greez Simon
  25. Reminds me of Flash Gordon... not really a Beauty, but yes, interesting!
