  1. Is it a sin to shorten the K's Siphon F, mount it on a ratio chassis and call it a Siphon C ?
  2. Why does it cost more to ship two Bachmann wagons within Ontario than it does from the UK ? Canada post your 'Avin' a lard

      I prefer lard.

      Lardons are more genteel

It probably costs more within Canada because of being slowed down by all the extra weight they have to carry around from eating the lard.

  3. I bought some unpainted versions....they scrub up nicely with some extra details. http://s259.photobucket.com/user/lofty1966/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20160327_212928_zpsmzfdf0hg.jpg.html?filters[user]=62482376&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=0
  4. Shows the Oxford LNER abortion up somewhat.
  5. The chassis is glued in and from my attempts to separate the two results in a broken model.
  6. Ontario...too hot or too cold....can't it just moderate ?

I'm not complaining....you don't have to shovel sunshine.

  7. Seems fairly safe to say product arrival chance practically zero, judging by the last few years of complaints
  8. What do we want ?Everything and more ! Oh and last week for delivery wouldn't go amiss as well.
  9. There were about 10 in GWR colours on Ebay a week or so ago at £25 several of which didn't sell. If I had the cash , I would have splashed !
  10. Without wishing to denigrate Mr ABS , is there anything in r-t-r , he has ever been impressed with ?
  11. It's old fashioned phone or letter with S E Finecast. Dave is one of the nicest guys to deal with and do his utmost to look after you.
  12. I am not prejudging, it is going to be interesting to watch Dapol overcome all the hurdles.
  13. With all these quality control issues, I can't wait to see what their premium (Black label) range is gonna turn out like.
  14. I phoned Mr Dunn about 18 months ago to obtain some etched luggage grills and some spare gwr monster windows. Yes yes , no problem. 3 months later phoned again "where are they ?" ,"grills out of stock , be a couple of months til etch supplier runs some more". Gave up and got some grills from brass masters, took all of about a week. Made my own windows. All stuff still ' on order' with Coopercraft....didn't seem much point on wasting money on a phone call (from Canada) to cancel (seeing as it's never going to come anyway. I got told off last year on here for saying he is as much use as a chocolate teapot but I think I stand by that remark !
  15. I find it safer that way !;-)
  16. 'Tis a thing of beauty. Need to go wash my mouth out with soap now, me being GWR fan.
  17. Having recently lost my job , perhaps you could give generously for the urgent "Bachmann for Lofty" Charity appeal ?Or if it makes you feel better , keep buying lots of Bachmann (at full retail) to keep them afloat until such time as I am back in the game ! Help a fellow modeller an' all that .....there's a good Chap !
  18. No hammering from me. Bachmann pricing keeping me out for the moment.
  19. Reading the Hammond books on Triang/Hornby , I was amazed that they did a prototype of a GWR "City of Truro". If they had forged on ,we could now have had a slew of Western 4-4-0 derivatives which would have been fantastic. Flowers , Bulldogs , Atbara's , etc. Ain't gonna happen now
  20. Saw a couple of the APT's at Brampton (Ontario) British Train Show today. Stunning models !
  21. My back gave out on Friday , could barely walk so left work early. Boss came round last night and gave me my redundancy papers. Great !

What Union? Small independent business . Canadian law is different to UK so will have to look into it.

  22. True dat ! It's a nightmare trying to find stuff for sensible money in Midwestern Ontario. The biggest joke is I can usually source stuff from the UK with the shipping cheaper than within in Ontario itself !
