  1. as long as they have decent pulling power, and are not split chassis then fine, however i like to service them,
  2. I know rob at lendons, I will ask him about it, as he might be able to do it, yes they do spares, and repairs, as he is my very local shop. not far from me
  3. just a quick question, with these, are there any companies that will fit the peter spares new gears etc and sort the quartering out?, as i might buy a mainline manor, but get it sorted out professionally.

I can confirm stewart does remagnestising, he did a load of lima locos for me and also silver seal tender drives, excellent service, like he says no need to replace magnet just give it a remag sorted.
  5. the lima motors actually can be made to run very nicely, dont need a CD motor.
  6. lendons are brilliant for ringfield spares and he also does loco remagnetising as well.
  7. check with lendons, they have a lot of triang spares, and local to me as well which is a bonus
  8. Fyi, I have never had a problem with gostude. how is he notorious? nothing wrong.
  9. @C126there is a silverfox 07 for sale on ebay, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-SILVER-FOX-MODELS-KIT-BUILT-BR-BLUE-RUSTON-CLASS-07-DIESEL-LOCO-07010/363128930837?hash=item548c2bc215:g:J4YAAOSwFDpfeH3p hope this helps i;ve bought off this seller a few times he is good.
  10. deffo a lima one, looks like the earlier type with larger gearing (faster) but fully serviceable , I prefer the smaller geared one ,slower and more powerful
  11. They are now I think the only spares suppliers in cardiff,
  12. I use lendons as it is just up the road from me, as he does spares etc, which Lord and butler dont, and i tend to not go to lord and butler any more due to the following reasons 1- I have to drive right across cardiff to go there pain in the backside on a saturday fuel cost etc, only time I need to go across cardiff if im in work at cbyc or with sea cadets 2 - Dont have what I want -they dont do spares, and sometimes their s/h range needs lot to be desired. 3- I've found in the past that their S/H locos need full strip downs and overhauling, so I dont use them anymore, but rob at lendons is always very helpful with me, and he also does loco remags as well, plus he does ringfield etc spares so I will give him definate thumbs up :D, and he's local so a bonus, he is starting up a second hand range so will keep a keen eye out on his site. edit i'm longer welcome at l&b due to my comments, i'm entitled to my own opinion and said it as a customer.
  13. I can 100% recommend stewarts service on remagetizing service, he did a load of silver seal motors for me which now run brilliant, and he gave a detailed report on each one, Also excellent communication from him, and I can honestly say he will be having some more motors from me soon :),
  14. @stewartingram I agree mate, The funny thing is that people who dawdle in front of police cars on the motorway and the police car has blues and twos going. Can you contact me please mate on private message
  15. no need to replace the motor, they are easily serviced, and will go forever if looked after properly.
  16. I called in this morning, came away with a Bachmann BR bogie bolster wagon sorted
  17. Thanks mate for that, much appreciated, as the only manors i can find is hook norton manor in BR livery (late crest) or foxcote manor even though my layout is set in 1967 i'm using modellers license for steam to continue on western region till early '68 alongside blue diesels, but going back to the manors/43xx, I have a 43xx Bachmann (2002 ish) model which runs well, but I just hope Bachmann bring out a new manor class and ironed out all the problems, as the problems are putting me off getting one, Mainline I will not touch with a barge pole
  18. yes however they need to cater for that era as well, I agree blue was around a long time.
  19. same here, esp for my late 60's western region layout, (using lima ones at mo which are actually ok) I notice they dont seem to cater for the plain blue pre tops era much, and both manufacturers are guilty of this. Need a 118 in blue and 116 in blue.
  20. Hi david, have you got pictures of the modified moguls/manors with tender drive please? as i'm looking down that route with my early Bachmann ones I actually dont mind tender drive so can live with it . cheers rob
  21. thanks mate I find this forum excellent for advice and help , I have an old green triang hymek and the yellow warning panels are missing does anyone know where I can get replacements? sorry for the questions
